Reds

Make that 74, never lead at the end of a complete inning last night

Last night's 6-0 loss makes it 83 innings in a row without holding the lead at the end of a complete inning

What is the record for such a streak?

Texas had a record of 105 innings just last year. Haven't seen anything out there that tops that.

Barreo sucked at the plate before his injury, pretty sure it's not going to help him. besides, Farmer has been the only respectably consistent hitter so far, so I don't see him surrendering SS until that takes a nosedive.
Barrero will be in the outfield. Where is this team going that you can't afford him a season of at-bats at the MLB level to prove whether he belongs or not? In a wasted season, lets see what he has or move on after. I need to see more than 117 at-bats at the MLB level first.

It's probable!! We're 2 weeks into the season and only need 89 more to go to reach the century mark.
At this rate they'll be lucky to get 45 wins. May set a record in futility.
So what's the deal with the ineptness of the training staff and coaches to adequately prepare the players? The Reds lead all of MLB with the number of players on the IL. Do they just have a bunch of injury prone guys? or is it the system? I know Spring Training was shortened, but damn, not many other teams experiencing the kinds of injuries the Reds have been dealing with. Are they not stretching properly or preparing properly?

Sparky Anderson once said something like: "In MLB no matter how bad you are you're going to win 40 games and no matter how good you are you're going to lose 40 games. It's what you do the other 82 games that determines what kind of player or manager you are." Found that to be pretty true.

MLB Network discussed the Reds last night(4/22) and said it'd be AT LEAST 2024 before Cincy had anything close to a playoff team but until then, get ready for historically bad baseball. That's clearly started. What makes it tough for fans, and understand ownership gives not a damn about fans, is ownership is openly sabotaging their own team.

Also pleases with Lodolo. He's going to be just fine long term. He's learning what works and doesn't at this level. He's been too successful everywhere he's been for me to be worried about his future with us.

Agreed, he's human and only natural if butterflies got to him in his MLB Debut. A clunker every now and then like Cueto in his couple years can be expected and will live it. We'll go as far as our young pitching takes us and fortunately we have depth.

Yes we do. I was glad to see Sims come running out of the bullpen yesterday. Just wish we could have Tejay back this season.

When we get fully healthy I think we're going to see a very different ball club.

Will still be a challenge to avoid 95 losses.

Not sure where he fits on this team, hopefully just AAA depth. We have Drury, Solano, Moran, Lopez, Riddle & Barrero who will be in the OF too as well as Farmer, India.

That it will. We've dug ourselves a hell of a hole. Holding out hope we can b a ND together at full strength and make a push.
I would be happy to see this team get it together in the 2nd half with young prospects like the 2009 Reds team did that built on that run for a strong 2010 season. In no way do I expect next season to be the 2010 Cincinnati Reds team but the extended playoff picture hopefully will be less postseason droughts in the future.

I'm banking on the expanded playoffs helping as well. Maybe then the cheap bastards will invest in some players when they see us consistently close. A man can dream.

One would think expanded playoffs would help but not with the current owners. Lost cause.

Luke Voit was placed on the injured list yesterday by the Padres. We'll see if there's any fireworks in this upcoming series, carries over next year or slowly goes away with time.

R u srs? That's chickenshit. And I don't even think his slide was malicious. He was clearly trying to knock the ball loose from TySteve. Yes, he deserves a retaliatory beaning and then we all move on. But Pham and Farmer making it out to be like it was with us v Pittsburgh or St Louis is horseshit. Cmon guys.

Not surprising but baseball players, despite being some of the worst fighters on the planet, have long memories.

Is Greene skipping a start this week? His velocity last start was noticeably down, arm problems flaring up?
