If only the Reds could borrow like 12 runs from yesterday lolThe Fightin' Phils have long memories. 7-0 top of the first and still batting.
Fair point. Looking like little leaguers out there today who have never played the position. DFA Newman. Also this outfield has continued to be a joke. By all means necessary, Senzel must start every game since coming back from the IL. In no way should Myers, Friedl or Fraley being losing playing time to him in the outfield.Little things matter. Newman failed to field Turner's first dribbler, tough play but you're supposed to be a ML SS, hurt but my goodness...WTF was India thinking holding a runner on 2B, opens up a HUGE hole for Harrison on what should've been a routine groundout that rolled thru for a base hit. Whoever is in charge of Reds infield defense had his head up his ass.
Would be lucky to field a .500 team in the International League.9-0 first inning. What ****** joke. This franchise needs to fold up.

Amen brother! Senzel's played, what, 3-4 days in a row? Guy must be exhausted by now. PLEASE move Barrero to CF, call up McClain to play SS and dump Senzel. Guy hit .240 in AAA, is hitting .083 since his recall. How much more proof does the FO need that Senzel isn't a ML player.Fair point. It's an ERA of 12.75 right nowCessa is a human batting tee but sure, the defense is not helping. That 7.00 ERA will spike a little now. lol
12 hits, 10 earned runs and 79 pitches thru 3 innings.

Have to stop the bleeding, can't watch this crap much longer when there is help sitting in AAA. The Vosler run was exciting for like a week. As long as the Reds have players looking like it's their first day on the job then CES should get the call when he's healthy. Cessa indeed did take one for the team trying to eat some innings with 10 runs.Amen brother! Senzel's played, what, 3-4 days in a row? Guy must be exhausted by now. Every time a Player walks off with an injury like that, I can't help but think, "welp, there goes two months without him" Frickin' hangnails require a damn trip to the IL and a month long rehab assignment anymore.Weaver Wednesday. Hope nothing serious for Steer getting pulled from the game.
Steer was showing great potential, hopefully he won't be sidelined long. Now we'll have Senzel crammed down our throats....until he's hurt again. McClain time if Steer can't go. Saw some positive news that X-Rays were negative, day to day. Indeed Senzel starting in his place at 3B today. Myers at 1B. Fraley in RF. If Steer wasn't hurt, I like this lineup for now giving Stuart an opportunity to play except Senzel & Newman of course. Fairchild has been a sneaky hitter with some occasional pop, plays hard and a former Top 10 prospect in the organization. Don't see him long term being the answer but clearly Senzel isn't and Vosler has gone ice cold.Steer was showing great potential, hopefully he won't be sidelined long. Thanks, day to day is most definitely encouraging. Question for me is where is TS's power? Gotta think shoulder injury has stifled it. Force-feed Senzel, slow drag your prospects....yeah, that's the ticket.Saw some positive news that X-Rays were negative, day to day. Indeed Senzel starting in his place at 3B today. Myers at 1B.

I have not seen anything recent. The last real update that I have found was a piece on CES April 9th that says he will be 'ready' on the 24th. A more recent update than something over a week old would be nice to hear to know where things really stand. Thanks, day to day is most definitely encouraging. Question for me is where is TS's power? You hearing anything about when CES/EDLC will return?
Much thanks! Need to be cautious with these guys but need to get them playing too. Maybe May will bring better results.I have not seen anything recent. Could not find anything definitive on ELDC other than this vague statement. "Expected to begin in Triple-A with the Louisville Bats, De La Cruz is getting close to joining the club but remains back in Arizona while he continues his rehab."

Reds' Elly De La Cruz named the top prospect in baseball - Redleg Nation
Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz was named the top prospect in baseball on Thursday. Five other Reds made the Top 100 list.www.redlegnation.com
Absolutely, can't wait to see these guys get back on the field and one step closer to getting on their way to Cincinnati!Much thanks! Need to be cautious with these guys but need to get them playing too. Maybe May will bring better results.
Definitely. A smart move to use the money coming off the books to keep the players the Reds already have rather than pay a player who doesn't want to be here like Castellanos or jokes like Moustakas. Glad Stoudt is coming up too. Sooner than I expected them to but the time is right! Weaver Thursday now.Reds got a bargain IMO.
A dubious distinction.2 out of the last 3 games have used position players to finish the game.
Between Ashcraft, Lodolo and Greene, Which has the best long term, consistent potential? I know Lodolo got rocked yesterday, but I still think he's the one who will have the most sustained and consistent success. I'd put Greene #3 on that list. sooner or later 100 MPH heat is going to wear his arm out. and as we've seen he's wildly inconsistent from one game to the next. The Reds actually spent 53 million and signed Hunter Greene to a 6-year extension.
Has it always been a rule that you can use a position player after your down 8 runs or more? or is that just a new rule? Position players have been used in blowouts before obviously, I just wasn't aware until this year that it was only allowed after down 8 runs.A dubious distinction.
I have my doubts that Hunter Greene lasts the duration of the contract in a Reds uniform. I fully expect him to live up to the hype and get the Reds a nice haul in return. Evidently this front office thinks so too signing him 1st! Should Greene stay healthy enough for the majority of the contract, some other team can deal with any injuries as he gets older. Always thought someone like Lodolo or Ashcraft would be the more affordable option if one were to be a 'Career Red' and retire here if any Reds pitcher were to do so.Between Ashcraft, Lodolo and Greene, Which has the best long term, consistent potential? If Greene stays around about 4 of the six years and is successful, long enough for the Reds to shoot for their one or two year attempt at competing for the playoffs. Having two years left on a $53 mil deal would be nothing for a big market club to take on in a trade when they could offer him a deal making almost that much in a damn season, assuming he proves worthy of commanding that. Hell, the Mets have about 87 million tied up in Scherzer and Verlander this season alone.I have my doubts that Hunter Greene lasts the duration of the contract in a Reds uniform. To answer your question about the most consistency and sustained success you would have to look back all the way to their minor league numbers with the 2022 season included. Lodolo would be #1, next Ashcraft better minor league numbers than Greene and the better start of all 3 obviously in 2023 so far, not so much the case in 2022 with the Reds. Greene who also dealt with a TJ surgery coming up would rank 3rd though he was lights out in the 2nd half last year with an ERA just a hair over 1.00. Basing my comments solely on the numbers they've put up and the complete body of work. All 3 of these guys will get lit up at some point, all part of the process.
Hope it works out.The Reds actually spent 53 million and signed Hunter Greene to a 6-year extension.

This flip flopping of blowout win vs. blowout loss is getting old but hopefully it ends tomorrow. LOL.
Hope it works out for all concerned but have my doubts about Greene staying healthy.. Really poor location on his pitches. Good thing is he now has film to watch. BTW, Tampa are bangers....really good hitting club.If Stoudt don't learn to keep that ball down in the zone soon he won't make it in GABP. Too many pitches down the middle.
Castillo did the same in 2017 that year except he skipped right over AAA before his promotion to Cincinnati. At least we know this organization has done it in the past. 2023 is looking more and more like a great year to do it again.MLB.com shows an ETA for Andrew Abbott's MLB Debut in 2023. He's not given up a run in Chattanooga, 11 K's in his 1st game & 14 K's in his last start. The Reds may seriously have to bite the bullet and call up Andrew at some point this year like they did with Mahle in 2017 starting the year in AA and making his MLB Debut later that year.
