Reds

Yet Cincinnati doesn't have the decency to pick up and make the call to even be fair & honest in their intentions why they can't afford players like Castellanos. Cleveland is very lucky here.

Hell yeah. Just got back from Malone's, didn't get to watch live what with Mother's Day and such. Watched condensed recap. Glad to see Mahle looked more like thr Tyler we know and love after that rough outing v Brew Crew. And how about Colin Moran today? Wow. He keeps that up he'll be off my shit list.

Hopefully Castillo comes out throwing serious heat and we start to see this squad get healthy.

WINNING IS FUN

Can't wait to see this lineup start to get healthy. No one expects Drury & Moran to keep this up. At the same time, you can't expect India, Farmer, Votto and the likes to stay in a funk forever as well as a former silver slugger award winner with Solano waiting to make his Reds debut. Things will balance out and when more of the Reds weapons who are out return, it will give guys like Drury, Moran & Pham more lineup protection around them. We know it's a lost season but as I said before, if this team can have a 2nd half like the '09 Reds did carrying that momentum into 2010 then I'll take it for now.

Hunter Greene really needed this outing. Just need to get him some run support.
Hopefully the return of Castillo brings some stability to the rotation. How much longer till Lodolo is back? Just hope when Minor gets the call he's not 3 games then back to the IL.

Can't wait for Lodolo to come back and hopefully build on those last 2 starts. The only thing I'm seeing about a return date is on the CBS Injury report Lodolo is not expected back before the 15th. Red Reporter said originally he would be available for the Brewers series after being scratched from the double header vs Pittsburgh with a setback. Hoping it's soon! Justin Dunn could be back around June but I'd be completely shocked with the shoulder injury.

Something is starting to cook in Cincy. They gonna come back to .500. Watch and see.
Get India and Votto back and maybe ....

I'm telling you I can feel it. Royals 2015 or so started really bad and came around. That team had Mike Moustakas on it. He is warming up finally.

The team bats are starting to wake up. At one point everybody was batting under .200. The WHOLE TEAM.

Last few games the Reds have been jumping out to the lead. Pitching staff will be a different pitching staff if they can pitch with the lead more.

We got Castille back and if we got the lead Gutierrez is a good bet. Mahle.

The only thing brewing is the trade market for the Reds #1 & #2 starters Castillo & Mahle. As if it was any news, the latest reports the Reds are shopping them officially now after lying as they do best in ST about not trading those 2.

Reds scored 14 runs on the Brewers today. Crushed them. I told you something has started clicking with the offense.

The team has won seven games but only 11 teams in MLB scored more runs.
The worst damn pitching throughout the league by almost 2 runs from Washington in 29th and about a 100 inning streak or so without a lead during the season so far. Where do you see only 11 teams ahead of the Reds in runs? Ranked 21st in team runs scored MLB Team Batting Stats.

Of the current injured players, who is going to carry the team offensively outside of India? Father time is going to catch up with Votto in his age 39 season and expecting him to repeat last year after losing Catellanos/Winker/Suarez all in the lineup is a gamble.

They'll play better until the roster is gutted at the trade deadline (actively shopping Castillo/Mahle) but to suggest they will be a .500 team is unrealistic. The Reds organization doesn't even expect that this year. It's fun to BTHO Pittsburgh and Milwaukee's shit offense but I'm not going to join Phil in raising a banner for it.

Tyler Stephenson looks to be about the only other consistently decent hitter capable of carrying them outside of India. And I'm gonna go on a limb and say India is going to be on the IL more than not this year. Hamstrings are a bitch to fully recover from. Hard for India to carry them from the bench. Not sure what's up with Votto and his stint on the IL. they said it was the Covid IL but he didn't test positive for it, yet he will be out a while according to them. Something else is up with that. Hope his bout with vertigo isn't recurring. Not looking forward to the Roster gut, especially Castillo. He's actually one who deserves a good contract. This was his first time ever experiencing any sort of injury, dude never misses starts. He's been about as reliable as it gets in that regard.

TS showed great potential in '21. They need to make his move to 1B soon to save his knees/legs and prolong his career.

Yeah, the upcoming roster dump will complete the FO's dismantling of Reds baseball for the immediate future. Hopefully this go around they get something in return other than a bunch of sore armed pitchers. I'm not holding my breath.

Saw an article on MLB.com where they had an MLB mock draft projections for the first round. They had the Reds at #18 taking a High School pitcher who had Tommy John surgery already. While the kid (Dylan Lesko) is good and all, I have to think taking a risk on a kid who's had arm surgery before ever graduating High School, doesn't bode well for the long tern stability of the kids arm.

Saw that too, a real head scratcher. I couldn't believe that as bad as the Reds are they aren't picking until 18. Probably won't matter if the same people who've drafted the last 10 years are still at the helm, only modest success despite favorable drafting spots.

The way Stephenson's season is going he is likely the Reds representative at the Midsummer Classic. It's about time we had a solid franchise catcher who can handle the bat and significantly improved his defense behind the plate. If he can stay healthy and productive long enough to play 1B after Votto retires, hopefully Matheu Nelson will be ready for MLB by then to give them some depth behind the plate. It would be like Cincinnati to be ready to trade Stephenson by then. Hopefully not. Tyler & Castillo should get paid as well as India if you want to have any core to build around going forward. I hate to even think about Castillo in another uniform and he is one of the best trades this FO has ever made.

Big red machine's got its motor started finally.
Something has changed. Getting ready to pitch a shutout.
Tyler Stevenson's on fire batting .349 what!
I'm telling you they're coming back to .500

Shutout complete. 5-2 over last 7. We need India and Votto to come back decent.

MAIN THING is confidence is growing. You can see it. Sweep of the Pirates is imminent. That would put them at 8 and 2.

I would love to see us get 75-80 wins, but 3-22 is hard to overcome. We just get India and Votto to play like they're capable, get Castillo to throw fire. I don't think we're the worst team in baseball by a long shot, even though we played like it through the first 25 games. Unfortunately, I still think we struggle to get to 65 wins. If only we could play the Pirates 70 times this year.

At this point I just want to keep stringing together series wins and see what happens. Taking 3 of 4 (or sweeping) the Pirates would be nice. The Reds had a gauntlet of a schedule to start the year and injuries took their toll everywhere. I agree 3-22 is hard to overcome but there's still a lot of baseball to play. I usually don't give up hope until the All-Star Break.

The Moose making up for lost time and Drury still not going anywhere yet. Wish we played Pittsburgh all season.

I've kept saying.....David Bell isn't the issue. Piss poor GM and ownership, and the insane injury bug we've had. We may have killed ourselves with that April, but if we can get healthy and stay that way who knows....we've got some young dudes. At the very least make my summer entertaining. Give us a little hope and a youth movement to look forward to as we target 2024.

The only saving grace or silver lining so to speak is that their April Schedule was absolutely brutal. Had to be one of the toughest opening month schedule in MLB, but the May schedule looks a whole lot more favorable. At least until San Fran comes in on the 27th. But at least that’s at home.
