Queen James is still whining...

Lebron James is one of the all time great stat stuffers but let's be honest, he isn't in the goat convo or anywhere near it. Let's not act like every title he lost was to this gsw squad. Were the mavs really that great of a team?
That year dirk was playing the best basketball of anyone in the league. 1 leg fadeaways no rim everytime. Making it to the finals 8 times is an accomplishment in itself

You can be considered for GOAT and not be the greatest scorer. Still the best player in the league
who even brought up scoring? I acknowledge that lebron is an amazing stat stuffer. that's great and will obviously get you a lot of wins over the course of time. But lebron isn't the goat and isn't in contention for it. You can't be 3-5 in the finals and be the goat. Especially not when you can't even beat a team like the mavs. Good team? Yes. A team that Jordan would've lost to in the finals? Hell no.

Would the bulls beat the GSW? Probably not

How many times did Jordan lose to the Celtics and Pistons? Or is it only the finals losses that count?

Titles are about teams or Russell is the GOAT, there is no logical way to argue that.

So it's suddenly bad to not be the GOAT? Lebron is top 10 of all time right now and still has time to add to his legacy. He's one of the top 5 players I've witnessed in my lifetime. Only MJ, Magic, Bird, & Kobe are arguable better. (Again, talking about players I've watched).

I'll never understand the Lebron hate. He is a great spokesman, a generational player, & even likes Coach Cal! You'd think he killed someone's cat or even raped a woman in Denver.......

Agreed, he probably doesn't beat them this year. But lebron hasn't played this gsw squad 8 times. Let's not also forget that Kyrie and Love are on that squad too, it's not as if Cleveland is empty on talent.

And just to clear things up, I was never a Jordan fan. I just don't think there's any comparison.

Absolutely. Which is why it's not an insult at all to be considered second best.

One of the talking heads brought up a point that isn't often discussed. MJ was coached by Dean Smith, Doug Collins & Phil Jackson (who many consider the GOAT coach). Magic & Bird were drafted into franchises that had winning tradition & championship mentality from ownership down.

Lebron was taught the game by a HS coach, went to the CAVS and carried them to the finals at 22.

The Goat? Probably not. But not too shabby.

Is there anything more ironic than Warrior/MJ stans that say LeBron gets all the calls or call him a bi*** and say all he does is complain

snarks is probably hanging from a tree somewhere.
Or she jumped off the ledge with umm.

As for this thread, lebron is a great player and if of the best all time. Jordan though in my opinion, is the greatest I've ever seen. As a kid I couldn't couldn't stand watching him rip the hearts out of pacer fans every yr. this is before the cavs were relevant. He hit some of the most clutch shots I've ever seen not to mention 6 titles. That said, he had a great supporting cast as well. Pippen is considered one of the 50 greatest players of all time so to say he never had help that's bs. Whether it was grant, Paxton, Kerr, rodman(stay in North Korea please), bill winnington, kukoc, Longley, it didn't matter. Those guys played their absolute best for Jordan just like the supporting cast does for tom Brady. Point is, Jordan was had a few contstant players for a few years which allowed them to come together and become complete. Not to mention the same coach yr in and yr out. I think Phil Jackson is a tad overrated as a head coach as I could win with foundations that start with a pippen and Jordan or Kobe and shaq.

Pippen isn't considered top 5 all time by anybody. Idk where that comes from? Lebron has also had bosh, ray Allen, dwayne wade, kyrie irving and Kevin love. Both had support.

IMHO:
LeBron is the best player I've seen in the NBA. Michael Jordan was given every possible advantage from teammates, coaching, and career-long preferential treatment.
MJ could not have accomplished what LeBron has already with the same circumstance(s). My contention is that no other player in the history of this game could have carried those Cavs rosters as far as LJ has. LeBron should go to a New York or Los Angeles team now (where free agents will follow) and win 4-5 titles to erase all doubt that we are watching the greatest basketball player of all time.

thats understandable cause thats ur opinion, but lets be fair we dont know what jordan or lebron would of done in the circumstances of teams and eras. i rather debate facts, stats, wins rather than speculation on what this or that player "would or wouldnt" have done.

I fixed it don't worry I left off the zero. That's what happens when you don't proof read sometimes and just fly through it. Ask fast paste guy about that

honestly curious. Did you watch Jordan through clips and YouTube or did you actually live through it? I have a hard time believing anyone who lived through the Jordan era could honestly say lebron is better. Mj was a killer who refused to lose. I hated his guts. But as an adult now, I can at least admire what he accomplished. 6 out of 8 titles and probably wins 8 in a row if he doesn't take time off to play baseball.

He is clearly in the top two of all time. Anyone saying otherwise is either just hating or is a moron.

thanks for the amazing point to my argument that lebron is just a stat stuffer and not necessarily the greatest basketball player ever. How does a supposed top 2 player of all time along with 2 all stars and a hand picked bench not win the championship with those stats? Crazy.

Lebron isn't in the GOAT conversation or anywhere near it? LMAO!! That's hilarious!

Anyone who uses his record in the finals as a measuring stick for his greatness is just plain ignorant. It's because of his greatness that ALL of those teams were in the Finals to begin with. People look at his Finals records but how many of those Finals were his team the underdogs? Maybe the 2 losses with Miami but go back and watch those series, it wasn't his fault they lost. It just amuses me how people will ignore simple logic just because they don't like somebody. You don't have to like him to admit that he's one of the GOAT. I didn't say he was the GOAT but he's definitely in the conversation. To call him a simple stat stuffer is just stupid. I don't mean an disrespect but it is just stupid.

im still tryna get people to point out what exactly lebron was better than jordan at...they say all around stats but i look at jordan stats he leading lebron in more categories, wins, awards...playing the same amount of years. and jordan is a shooting guard, lebron a small foward.

the thing is that I actually do like lebron as a player. Shocking I know but you don't have to think he's the goat to enjoy his game. Great stat stuffer, lacks the killer instinct to be in the goat conversation.

Because the games all about 3s now and golden state has the top 2 shooters in the game and another top 10 shooter, and has a much better bench than Cleveland? Also GSW have 4 allstars and Iggy who used to be a superstar

I'm plenty old enough to have seen Jordan. I remember the NBA well before MJ. I prefaced my post as a humble opinion, nothing more because it's impossible to compare eras. But, it makes for good debate while waiting for November!

I have lots of opinion about MJ:
He played during a "soft" time in the NBA.
The "Jordan Rules" were very real. Never has a player been so protected by the league.
Jordan was universally disliked by other players, even his own teammates.
He played in a offensive system that the rest of the league hadn't caught up with. (who is running the triangle offense now?)
He had a tremendous advantage with coaching stability (after he coach-killed Doug Collins)
Scottie Pippen is not an all-time top 10 player but he was top 5-10 in the league at the time.
