Portal QB Incoming

Boley is nowhere near ready. Plus he better add 20 pounds or more or this OL will get him seriously hurt.
Boley like all of stoops qbs will ultimately fail stoops does not want to incorporate a big pro style passer like boley . Stoops wants the ball on the ground and score those 2 touchdowns a game in grind out fashion . I am on the edge of my seat can't wait THANKS MITCH

What I want is an effective offense. I really could not care less what it is as long as it works. IMO, we could be successful running an RPO scheme with inside zone blocking coupled with a short/West Coast passing attack. We could recruit those QBs who are not NFL size but who are quick, smart and big enough arm to hit those short and intermediate routes all day long. Whatever we decide, we need to stick to it and recruit for 3 or 4 cycles to that system. We'd see real progress then, I believe. Jumping from one system to the next is not ever going to work. Out recruiting the big boys for NFL-bound QBs and WRs is not going to work, either. We need the athletes that might be very good college players but most likely won't play pro ball. We can win consistently that way, I believe.

You can't go into next season with a RS Fr who played in a couple of games and 2 True Freshman. You have to have at least a serviceable G5 thrown in there.

Isn't it possible though that Brock stays? Maybe he hits the portal but he hasn't yet. He didn't exactly blow the doors off this year so I don't think teams will be beating down the doors to pay him. But who knows?

I'm not sure that Brock isn't still the best QB on the roster. Numerous sources say that Boley was outplayed by Kade Elam from Corbin in the UK camp when Boley was a senior and Elam a junior. Elam has an offer to play QB at Marshall, but is said to be going to play baseball at UofL. Rumor is that he might play football at UofL too..

I mentioned earlier that the rumor is the Boise QB will be coming out. If so will Bush go after him?

Ideally, they would let Bush bring in his own offensive staff, specifically a QB coach and develop Boley to the system. As well as the other QBs coming in. Folks are high on the Saunders kid.

I would argue for Bush and position coaches that he wants, trusts, and can run things something closer to what Boise St has looked like offensively.

The kids who have committed to UK, and Bush now, should be given every opportunity to compete and succeed.

Give Boley and Saunders all the reps during the offseason and let's see what happens. Hell, let em both play next year too.
Couldn’t be any worse than it will be with another new QB.

There is a lot that goes into being an effective QB at this level. Boley wasn’t ready. Really wonder what the staff was thinking. A bad Oline against a pretty good Louisville front. He looked completely lost which isn’t surprising.

They need a guy that has experience that fits what they want to do. So far the guys that have entered the portal are blah. There is no Leary level QB yet in terms of production-accuracy. Forgot how Leary played just talking his actual production before arriving at UK. There was nothing that said that wouldn’t work.

Interested to see what they actually want in a QB. Do they want a starter and are they will to hand it over without a competition? These QB in portal clearly aren’t interested in coming to compete especially the older guys. Bring in a younger guy then other guys will leave in Spring if they lose the battle.

Physically, he probably still is. Something is going on off the field with brock or hes injured. Either way, I don't think hes worth the price tag given there isnt much separation between he and boley.

You really can't compare hs boley to anything. He is a completely different player now. When we recruited him, i expressed concern about his lower body because his legs looked like toothpicks and his throws were all arm. The kid we saw late in the season was an all new player. Very encouraged.

Im curious why they said this publicly. I just assumed Brock was gone when he apparently wasnt going to play vs ul. I guess they want to save stone's rs. So im guessing they are going for a bargain backup. Hopefully it doesn't mean cutter is gone.

I believe should stick to Brock, you could tell everything was starting to click, he was just getting into a rhythm, we moved away from him too quick, he'll become an NFL HOFer, somewhere else most likely.
