Potential Incoming Transfers

Gonna be a difficult sell to a lot of guys. I would have to think with the new roster limits, the best bet will be to pursue a lot of G5 or MAC level type guys who are playing well enough to make a jump and who might want to showcase their abilities on a bigger stage for NFL scouts. Probably only gonna find guys willing to come here that have one or two years left to play since barring a miracle transformation, the staff is pretty much lame duck as it is.

Money talks, kids are always looking to get paid or a chance to play. Football is about opportunity now. Most, not all, but most of the power 4 level young men care more about who will provide the best path for them, its not about winning as much as it used to be. There will always be players looking for that chance or that $$$

Many transfers value stability second only to money. There isn't any of those here. It's going to be tough sledding going forward.

Feels like we'll get a bunch of OLinemen at a pretty penny. They'll be and to demand more since we badly need them.

Whether they perform to their NIL $$$ is yet to be seen, though. Wolf is their coach, so my guess is that whomever we get will underperform. But, who knows? I'm nothing but a sourpuss when it comes to UK football right now.

It isn’t going to matter as long as we are running an offense the players cannot come close to executing. It’s been four years. It isn’t going to work. Start with going back to what we did well and build on that.

We need O line.
, D line, running backs and a good QB. Either Boley gets in weight room and gains about 20 pounds of muscle or he doesn't last the season. We also could use a couple of line backers some receivers and some D backs, basically EVERYTHING

I don't know how you sell anything on the offensive side. Might get a running back or a lineman. Stoops history with QBs and WRs outside of Levis and Wan'dale has been pretty poor

We will need some coaches maybe a Coach who brings players with him such as Western got from another school a few years ago!! Can Walkons get Nil and avoid Scholarship limits

There are no more scholarship limits. Just a new roster limit of 105. They can all be on scholarship.

Is that just an SEC thing? And why, if the rest of College football can go to 105?

There is more money, here, than at a MAC school. Sure, if other SEC schools bid, we might lose out, but lots of MAC players would give their eye teeth for a shot at playing SEC ball on national television every Saturday. And we form the Southern/South Western border of 4 states with MAC programs . . . a 2/3 hour drive from half the MAC.

It's why I'm saying that a lot of MAC level kids will be trying to make the move up with the new roster limits and a lot of the Walk-on type kids being cut from rosters will wind up at MAC level schools replacing them.

Then you need to go away. Stoops is staying and no one will change that. I don't like him and you don't like him but I love Kentucky and just complaining is doing no good for anyone especially the men on the team that are staying to play at UK.
I'm ready for change as much as anyone, but I've also been a lifelong fan and have sat through and witnessed close to 50 years of ups and downs with this football team since I started following them as a young kid in the 70's. I'm still gonna have my season tickets come hell or high water. So if Stoops is still going to be our Coach for at least one more year, then I have to accept that and start looking for the silver linings. Things tempered a bit this week with Macklin saying he's still on board and with all but two of the recruiting class signing. There's still a whole lot of roster turnover that's going to happen and we have to hope for the best.

Maybe, just MAYBE, the kids leaving was part of the problem, not part of the solution. I think SOME of the kids leaving was the ones who was cancers in the locker room and gave half assed effort on the field. JMO, now coaching, we know what the problems are. But transfers can, and will be replaced.

Nah, I'm gonna stay around just to p!ss in your Cheerios, thank you very much. The program is circling the drain, just as it was during Joker's tenure. Total housecleaning is needed from top to bottom, so whomever we bring in via the portal to "right the ship" is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

No different than a few years ago...

Unlimited playing time - if you're good enough.

That's always been the sell.

I also have this suspicion...

Given how quickly some of the players opted to transfer out, especially the ones that had GLARING issues throughout the season, I can't help but get the feeling that that negativity was a big part of the problem.

Especially when the leaders on the team don't take accountability.

Stoops was crystal clear in his post-season comments: "If you don't want to work don't come back." How many that left fell into that category? We have too many looking for the "Gotcha!" moment instead of what's said.

Dane Key is the ONLY player that has left so far that I feel was NOT a problem in the locker room OR didn't put the proper effort into the team. I may be wrong, but it seems like it.

To me, Key maybe felt a little too big for the program. Wonder why BV ONLY looked his way too often ?? I do not think he is the golden boy every may think he is. he got the big head with a little success, and expected everything given to him. Just my opinion on Key. If not, why leave so soon ? Also, it was rumored he didn't like his position coach, maybe he was to do things he didn't feel like he had to do ??
