Our whole point is since when do these activist District Court Judges have more power than the President to issue these rulings? If we let these judges overstep the President, we don’t have a Republic.
The Constitution allows the district courts to block an executive order. The “since when” part has been for a long log time. IIRC Obama had an executive order involving immigration which was challenged and later overturned. This is all a part of checks and balances. I guarantee conservatives were going apeshit about that EO and never breathed the words activist judges once. it’s all about perspective. One of the issues is that trump has issued way more EOs in his first 100 days than his predecessors. I think I read that about 25% have been challenged but I could be off on that? My whole point is that it is set up this way so that a president cannot go rogue and do whatever they want.

"The other thing the EO does is to force the government to add a "mens rea" element to most of these "crimes"; i.e., you have to be aware of the fact that you are committing a crime in order for it to be a crime.

Thus, if you decide to build a pond on your property and the EPA has some obscure regulation saying that is a crime, you would need to be aware of the criminal nature of the act before you did it in order to be guilty of anything.

This is great. The whole EO is linked in my post below, but I wanted to call attention to one tangential aspect of it.

The EO says:"It privileges large corporations, which can afford to hire expensive legal teams to navigate complex regulatory schemes and fence out new market entrants, over average Americans.”This is really important and is a theme I keep coming back to. Regulatory schemes like Dodd-Frank and the CFPB are created ostensibly to help the “little guy,” when in reality they create byzantine layers upon layers of compliance requirements that only mega-corporations can afford to navigate. Those sorts of laws are anti-competitive and hurt most of all the “little guy” they purport to help.

When you hear the likes of Bernie Sanders and Big Chief Lizzie Warren railing against the “oligarchy,” realize that they regulatory schemes they propose serve the oligarchy MOST OF ALL. In fact, Bernie and Lizzie and AOC are the oligarchs, not us."

Definitely an interesting move to say the least.

Trump:"Far too many American presidents have been afflicted with the notion that it's our job to look into the souls of foreign leaders and use US policy to dispense justice for their sins ... It is God's job to sit in judgment — my job to defend America and to promote the fundamental interests of stability, prosperity, and peace."

Trump is literally the king of all talk and no bite. The not trade deal with China, for instance. He signs EOs and thinks they're laws. He thinks an EO is going to lower drug prices, for instance. He accepts bribes and can be won over with flattery. He has gotten played by Putin at every turn regarding the Russia/Ukraine war. He attacks the press for asking hard questions and frequently calls people child-like insults. None of that is quality leadership in my opinion.
So much worse than the foreign policy of

"Dont"

That was sure effective.

Hey maybe you can appease the lunatics in your party ad build another pier for hamas

Remember that time Iranian spies made it all the way to secretary of state last admin. TOUGH

A link to an NPR article through Apple News. Do you know how many of the people working in NPR's editorial Department are registered Democrats?
I did not see politics in the article.
As stated, what I see is a concern and a dilemma in how to fix the problem. It was nice to see Toyota of Kentucky mentioned so favorably and prominently in what I thought was a well-written article that showed up in my news feed yesterday morning. Here is an older piece from last Summer discussing the same issue:

I am 70 years old and I was always told there were two types of blacks. I am sure blacks have always known it, but now they are speaking to it. Good for them.

I have always felt the same about whites. Some that are just white trash.
All people need to do is watch cops to see that. Bad Boys, Bad Boys, watch you gonna do. Almost always white trash in those episodes.

People with naturally higher levels of testosterone can and do need less sleep than people that on average don't have high testosterone. I know several people that have only gotten 4-6 hours of sleep per night for 50 years and they function just fine in their 60s and older doing the same. One served in the USN. Another ran 3 businesses at the same time for well over 20 yrs.

What science tells the non-ignorant among us is that not everyone is the same or needs the same things to live and function well.

People who won't will always be jealous of those who will do what needs to be done.
For most people, it takes 7-9 hours to reset adenosine (the neurotransmitter that accumulates in the brain during wakefulness) levels in the brain, but research has shown that some people need much less sleep for this reset.

Probably realize that all of that demonstrating and trying to act tough is not working. Now they need to practice shooting those guns, so they don't shoot each other. I still like our chances of beating them in a fight. Probably start shooting themselves during these attacks on ICE and other facilities. If not, they will find out quickly how much better the enemy is because they are trained.

The feeling that this needed to be typed out must be weird.

It's not... only because it's become such an 80/20 issue (dems overplayed their hand with the sexualization of chjildren) that they admit reality.

If she had won, and we had continued down the path of destruction they set us upon, they'd answer just like that complete fool they appointed to the supreme court. How are you supposed to know? You're not a Biologist. Did you know Man and Woman are a Social Construct? Here's a link explaining it to you.

I have been living off of 4-6 hours (many times less) for years now.

Watch out world.

Liberals telling everyone Trump is back.....

The point I am trying to make is that these articles by publications and news outlets that cannot find their way to write anything in a positive light, write articles like these with an air of pessimism, not optimism. It's all about the spin. "yeah, that's a big idea and all, but here's the obstacles" blah, blah, blah. They don't want the public to read optimism in anything they write about this administration. they want these big ideas to fail.

IHunter and the Big guy were taking in millions from adversarial foreign governments, so try again.
Wrong. In fact, after at least six years of thorough investigation, Republicans as have yet been able to prove nothing. You're just quoting Right Wing social media

The economy is improving, drug prices are being lowered, inflation is at a 4 year low, the stock market is gaining steam,
You might notice a distinct pattern here. When Trump announces his "big, beautiful tariffs" the markets crash and all leading economic indicators tank. When he scales back the tariffs, Markets and economic indicators move back up. It is likely that trump is using this manipulations of the markets to further enrich his family. and friends. In any case., you don't have to be Adam Smith to know that tariffs do not work.
equitable trade deals with other nations who have been robbing us blind are happening, manufacturing is moving back to the states, and we are on the verge of ending a war which should have never been started. But all you have left to cry about, is the fact that a foreign nation gifted the administration a plane to use while Air Force One is out of commission and then it will be donated to the Trump Presidential Library. Nobody with functioning grey matter gives a damn. When you demand we return the Statue of Liberty to France, let us know, K?
How wrong you are, A great many people with a great deal of brain matter give very much of a damn. In fact, some of the MAGA morons on this board are uneasy with this deal. The High Priestess of MAGA, Laura Loomer actually spoke out passionately against it. You may not know this. but saying the plane is the property of the Trump Presidential Library is the same thing as saying Trump can use the plane however he sees fit. It's a gift. Comparing it to the Statue of Liberty is too stupid to address but I'm sure even some of the MAGAts on this board cringed when they read that.
When he steals USAID funds from the taxpayer to buy one, let us know. The cost of running Air Force one or the temporary Saudi jet is already baked in the cake. Now you don't even have egg bitchin to fall back on. Now run along a key a Tesla, attack an ICE detention center or whatever violent leftist lunatic cause de jour you have planned. GOD BLESS PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP!
Put down the crack piple and walk away. Trump said gas prices were averaging $1.93. I filled up last night at $3.07, and gas prices are historically lower than the national average where I live. Trump just lies, and the rubes fall for it, hook line and sinker

May 9th is clearly a Democrat Party insurrection. It is in most ways much worse than the narrative they pushed about Jan 6th. On 5/9 and now, this involves actual members of congress attempting to take over a Govt building. Trying to overthrow the constitution. They say that they are simply fighting to be heard and seen----for justice. Well so were we on 1-6. On 1-6 we were the principled opposition.
INDEED! Nothing says principled opposition like a bunch of goons waving confederate flags, beating police officers to a pulp, building a gallows and threatening to assassinate the Vice-President, breaking into our capital and smearing their own shit all over the walls, Principled indeed!

The Qatari royal family bankrolls Hamas. This is Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, relative of the man who the US Defense Department has identified as the funder of the mastermind of the September 11 attacks and helped Khalid Sheikh Mohammed evade capture for many years.

The Qatari royal family does "favors" and gives gifts, the same way the mob does favors and gives gifts. There is always the expectation of something in return. For all the Palestinian hatred on this board, looks like HAMAs has now bought Trump.

This is the same regime that:

• Finances Hamas
• Was found guilty of bribing hundreds of European Union officials to sway policy in its favor
• Financed 9/11 attacks
and backed those Palestinian protests y'all hated so much

And it's not just Trump with his snout in the trough:

• Pam Bondi – Qatar’s registered lobbyist $115,000 per month
• Kash Patel – Security consulting for Qatar
• Eric Trump – Building Qatari-funded golf resorts
• Jared Kushner – Took \$1.5B from Qatari and Emirati funds. Also an important note that when Jared Kushner was flailing and couldn't find a buyer for 666 Fifth avenue, the Qataris bailed him out.

First statement = false.

Avg gas price a year ago....$3.73
Avg gas price yesterday....$3.18 (do your research on the $1.98 comment)

I paid $2.75 at Sam's yesterday.

Thanks for playing.

Yes ... oil prices have been reduced recently.

Here are just a couple of recent articles found via google search ... as there are plenty out there right now:

The Boyle county Early Learning Center is closing its doors because of the clawing back of federal funds. About 60 kids go there from 6wks to 5 years. I understand curbing federal spending, but this is going to be something that hurts our community. Childcare is hard enough to find these days.

It just opened last year, according to a story in the Advocate Messenger. I could not find a story supporting your post. Do you have a link? I am interested.

We’re 37 trillion in debt. What’s your solution?

What if we rounded up and deported every single illegal immigrant? How much would be saved that could then be applied to helping Americans, like those you mentioned?

Hard choices. But reality.

Given what has transpired this past week, Trump has you bent over and is making you say uncle.
You all said Liberation Day was the beginning of a great era of prosperity for the US. Now basically every single part of it has been undone. Are we not going to be prosperous now. I’m so confused. I can only imagine how hard it is for you all to say X is the greatest thing ever one day and then Not X is the greatest thing the next day.

One thing I now know for certain. Trump has proved that the vast majority of proclaimed Republicans (you included) don’t really have any values, they’re just rooting for their team.
