KA -- BOOM!

Stock market today: S&P 500 wipes out Trump tariff losses, marks longest winning streak in 20 years as trade war cools.

The stunning success of Trump's hardball trade tactics, combined with the jobs reports, increased wages (up 3.8 percent annualized), domestic manufacturing flooding into the US, inflation down, gasoline under 2 dollars a gallon, etc. is a hard cheese for the left to swallow.

The left has been taking it on the chin in a BAD way since January. 🤣 🤣

It begs the question: How many times does a person have to be proven wrong, time and time again, before reality sets in?

Trump is truly making the Dems, AND most of the world, look like idiots...

I'm beginning to think Trump was on to something with that whole 'enemy of the people' thing...

From the article (CBS at least once refers to the President as Mr. Trump):

"In the almost seven decades since, China has transformed into the world's manufacturing powerhouse. But President Xi Jinping's government believes the U.S. is once again working to isolate China, through President Trump's tariff trade war, and that Washington will try to force other countries — and their consumers — to pick a side.

Richard Qiu told CBS News it's simply unfair. Wearing a pale blue Ralph Lauren shirt, the businessman invited CBS News to sit down in his display booth at the Canton Fair for a chat. Surrounded by thousands of small fabric gift bags designed for everything from Christmas to Easter to birthdays, the fact that Qiu even quickly agreed to an interview was disarming; Every other Chinese businessperson we approached turned our camera away, wary of speaking with foreign media.

His openness and warmth indicated a sense of ease with Westerners, and more importantly, his desire to tell his story about how external forces, completely out of his control, were affecting him and his livelihood.

Qiu's Liaoning Perfect Import/Export Co. Ltd has been making gift bags for 20 years, and he has fostered strong relationships with his U.S. customers, who, in recent years, have made up 30-40% of his exports. He's traveled to the U.S. at least six times and says he loves the country: "It's about freedom, democracy, it's open and fair."

"But this isn't fair," he said of the trade war sparked by President Trump's steep tariffs. "It makes me feel sick about the U.S. now."

Mr. Trump insists his tariffs will, despite current economic pain in the U.S., bring manufacturing back to America and buoy the economy, reshaping the global trade system. But Qiu said it's about something else. He believes President Trump is punishing China for being the best at producing everyday products at affordable prices, and using that prowess to dominate the global market.

"U.S. buyers said, 'Richard you have to stop production; we have to cancel it.' I think 90% of my U.S. orders will be canceled."
For years, the Canton Fair has been packed with American buyers looking to bring their customers back at home the best possible deals on offer. But this year, officials admitted to CBS News that the numbers are way down — another sign of President Trump's trade war taking hold.

One American we did come across perusing the stalls in Guangzhou wasn't there to buy, but rather to research new products.
"Tariffs are going to come down at some point and we need to be ready for it," Jonathan Scheerz who lives in Michigan, where he runs a homewares business"

Being good at what it does. What a load of crap. They engage in intellectual property theft, force foreign manufacturers into draconian partnerships, and then, through government subsidies, near slave labor, complete disregard for global environmental standards, along with patent infringement, they "pump and dump", often at a loss, to artificially influence the market and bankrupt competition.

And, this disingenuous article fails to mention that the rest of the world is fed up with China as well, but lacks the financial consumer clout to put up much resistance. Most will publicly condemn the US, but deep down, are glad that the US is bending China over their knee and spanking them, because they know it is in THEIR best interest as well. (They're mostly just butthurt because Trump took THEM to task as well. But the REAL target has always been China.)

Did the US* and the World enable this? Absolutely. But China has a terrible record of ignoring trade deals, and so there is nothing wrong with correcting prior mistakes. This is weak-minded propaganda journalism, with it's only intent to bash Trump.

*(That dumbass Bill Clinton, and a Republican Congress were the dipshits that created this damn mess, when they practically shoved China down the WTO's throat) Idiots... Our POS Senator, Mitch McConnel was front and center, banging the drum for all of this America damaging agenda as well. Let's not forget that. What an abject POS...

From the Babylon Bee article:

In a historic display of baseball prowess, a pitching machine tossed a no-hitter against local dad Keith Malvern.

Even Malvern, who was humbled by the experience, knew he was witnessing greatness.

"He just had great stuff today," Malvern told reporters. "I managed to foul a few off, but that was it. He had me guessing. Was it going to be the 70-MPH fastball, or the dreaded 71-MPH fastball? I had no clue. Some days, you just have to tip your cap to the pitcher and come back next time."

(the comment about whether it would be the 70 mph or 71 mph fastball cracked me up)

JFC - that individual is seriously mentally damaged. Give her $200 for what, exactly? Because she's black? She sounds seriously unhinged. The person interacting with her had a whole lot more patience than many other people would have. A lot of folks would have forcibly thrown her out of the store and called the cops instead of putting up with her hysterical demands and actions. Unfortunately, a not-insignificant number of society are out of their f*cking minds. Firebombing cars and car dealerships. Physically confronting individuals over a yard sign or a parking place. Being so completely out of touch with reality that they protest oxymoronic slogans such as 'Queers for Palestine' when even an halfwit knows queers would be (probably are being) exterminated in Muslim countries. Argue with a straight face that all one has to do be a woman is say that you are one and abra-cadabra - you are one and society must accept and celebrate your mental illness. Protesting removal of dangerous, violent criminals who are here in the US illegally. And on and on and on.
The problem is that many including the libs in this thread would cow/bow down to her demands and treat her as if she is a freedom fighter and saint. These are the types of people they defend.

People posting things from someone called Catturd will never not be funny. Also you guys will wave US flags at Trump rallies and fly them in your neighborhood, but then root against the USWNT and laugh at them because one dyed her hair blue and doesn’t love Dear Leader. Incredible showing of patriotism. Trump will make you do weird things.
You mean TDS?

Cheap WalMart and Amazon goods aside, the current state of the Chinese steel industry is probably the MOST ominous storm front bearing down on the Chinese economy. Their steel industry is flat out F***ED... (and this didn't just start with Trump's tariffs)

good. having worked for a steel company back in the 70s i remember china dumping their steel in our country, undercutting our steel industry. that’s when the steel belt started to rust

My first job out of college in the early 80s was with one of the largest metal building manufacturers in the country. Thankfully they didn't buy Chinese steel coils, at least I don't think they did. US Steel (USX), Bethlehem Steel were the main vendors but they also bought a fair amount of Japanese coils which was a superior product. It rolled much smoother and had less waste.

I've run across a lot of comments that China's steel is pretty substandard. is this true, as far as you know?
back then yes. i remember slabs coming in from other countries such as s america that were reportedly low quality.
i would guess the quality of their steel has greatly improved by now though, thanks in part to some steelmakers sending some employees to other countries to help start up new facilities. i knew a senior roller in the hot strip mill who was sent to thailand to help start a new hot strip. he was nearing retirement and said the company made him an offer that was hard to refuse. this was in the mid 90s
