This chart is a classic example of why people need to stop just believing whatever some random person posted on the internet and taking it as pure fact.
1. This chart shows GDP per capita in the US as currently 160. 160 what? dollars? I should hope not that would put us down as one of the poorest countries, even below Afghanistan whose current GDP per capita is $415. The current GDP per capita according to the world bank is $82,769.
2. This chart shows that the US and Canada were tied at 100 in in 1995. Again 100 what? In modern history the US has always had a larger GDP per capita and they weren't tied in 1995.
3. Canadian GDP per capita in 2015 was 43,594, the latest number from the world bank is $53,431 which calculates to around a 19% increase over 10 years. Not nearly as good as the US during that time range, but still really good.
