Read an article that a lot of military experts and engineers think that hypersonic isn't effective at all, easy to shoot down, and a complete waste of money.
I DO think that a 6th gen fighter with AI and drones (more of a weapons platform than an actual fighter to be honest) is a worthwhile investment, because sooner or later, you have to penetrate inland through zones that are HEAVILY fortified with radar and missiles
Watched a former fighter pilot talking about how dealing with Iran is going to be harder than people think. He said they don't have state of the art stuff, but he said something as simple as unleashing a massive grid of those missile armed speedboats (cheap and easy to build in massive quantities) and flooding the airspace with cheap ass drones, makes it really difficult to defend carriers, and that it's constant distraction, and fatiguing as hell.
