Dump is about to pull his tariffs for 90 days. What a f’n clown
Or not. 50% unless China backs off by tomorrow.

President Trump on Monday threatened to impose a 50 percent tariff on imports from China, a massive escalation of a potential trade war between the world’s two largest economies.

Trump’s threat is the latest tit for tat between the U.S. and China in the last week. The White House last Wednesday announced it would impose a 34 percent tariff on Chinese imports as part of “reciprocal” tariffs against dozens of countries.

“Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th,” Trump added. “Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated!”

It is FEISTY over here man
I was a big Republican in college, helped with campaigns love McCain.
The shift after Obama started my push leftwards, the MAGA movement made it to where anything to the left of populism is considered lib communism.

my intro on here was being accused of being a fake account (even though I’ve been posting on house of blue since 2007ish)
Then told I my history of supporting GOP was fake

Then it turns into if you don’t agree in lock step with what the MAGAys in here believe then your a lib/commie even if you mostly agree to some conservative thoughts.

Then after hanging out on here for a couple months you see that same posters posting racist rage bait and crazy Twitter accounts that are obviously reposting inciteful content to get clicks so they get the Elon “content creator” check.

Discussion ebbs and flows, but the shouting down and attempting to shove every single view point left of MAGA into one fits all box persists.

Nuance not allowed

Yep. My family is all over the place politically so I don’t really judge people too hard based on political views unless they’re extremists or too far in one direction, even if I disagree.

Your last statement is key. Feel like nobody has the ability to talk about things with nuance anymore (at least online lol). Not everything has to be as serious as people wanna make it out to be too

That jump occurred in less than 2 minutes. Which tells me that the vast majority of this volatility is based on uncertainty and not the fundamental technicals.
All investment plans are on hold, layoffs incoming.
The market doesn’t want to believe blanket tariffs are real, and that’s why it jumps on prospectus that they’re not.
The “market” clearly thinks the blanket tariff are a horrible idea and counterproductive.

So the MSM, instead of doing actual research and journalism, instead jumps on random X posts for their headlines. Further proof the Media shouldn't be trusted.
Markets autotrade algorithms scrape X
In this uncertain market lots of manipulation being attempted
And it doesn’t help that you have different members of the administration going on the record about vastly different goals of the tariff / trade war.
And they aren’t aligned in the message then you know the conversations in the cabinet meetings aren’t aligned.

Im not left. I don't agree with transgenders in sports at all for obvious reasons. But at the same time I can't acknowledge that two trannies competing for a women's pool championship isn't a humorous idea?

Again I'm not saying you can't be upset about it. I'm just choosing not to. There's a lot of things that do make me legit fired up but at some point I think it's healthier to laugh at some of this stuff from a pure absurdity standpoint
The problem was you came here criticizing or joking about the fact we were in here talking about a Women's pool Tournament as though we do that on the daily around here, as though it's an indicator of what goes on in this forum. If you do a search of the 18953 pages, you will see that this was the first ever post relating to Women's Pool Tournaments. The post was made to point out the ludicrous nature of the Transgender movement and how that Tournament reflects a bigger problem of women being disenfranchised and cast aside for the bigger, stronger and better versions with a penis.

I love these definitive types of statements regarding the future and what "the market thinks and believes". This level of pretentiousness is a tad extravagant, even for this forum.

Any layoffs that are coming soon are due to factors that occurred LONG before these tariffs the last few days.

We have plenty of time to see what the true outcomes will be, good or bad.

That’s a totally fair point and I appreciate the reasonable response with you outlining that it’s indicative of the more general movement rather than being just an issue with women’s pool itself.

Just think a couple posters took it a little too far with the responses when in reality the reason I thought it was funny was because I just saw that Theo Von/Shane Gillis bit about it (which is hilarious and I highly recommend), and I do think it’s just an amusing/humorous headline in general (just my sense of humor)

Until your daughter, niece, sister gets effed over by some mental case dude.
Hilarious.
Hardee har har.
Pitiful.
Zero tolerance for these [I'm a chick now] pu$$ies.
Hopefully it stays banned in KY and I won’t ever see that (unless my daughters somehow are athletic enough to play college sports which is very unlikely as they ain’t inheriting any athletic prowess from me lol)

I think Electronic parking brakes are pretty much on most cars these days, unless your getting a very base model of something. My Sonata has one, and the only thing that bothers me is that if it's engaged, it won't let me put the car in reverse until I put my damn seatbelt on. Fine if i'm backing out to actually leave, but if i just want to move the car out of the garage or something, it's annoying.
Am I missing it?
I never put on the parking brake.
I may be the weird one, I suppose.
Oh well.

Good God the UK is absolutely gone.

They can deny it til the cows come home, but this is exactly the same scenario we'd be facing if/when the Globalists/Communists/Liberals/Democrats ever regain power.

I don't know about any of you guys, but if they tried to imprison me for something innocuous I posted online, they'd have to face a hail of gunfire because I'll be damned if I'll go peacefully.

We'd better keep fighting the evil that is the Democrat party, because what lurks behind them, what they're hiding is nothing short of total control in every facet of your life. That's what they want; they are convinced only they know and understand what everyone needs and wants.

Thank God and our Founding Fathers for the 2nd Amendment.

“Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers. In this country, we rise or fall as one nation — as one people.“
agree wall street is not main street.
Small business is a core tenant of Americas economy

hey there master debater!
There comes a tipping point, contributing factors have been there, that's why they draw up their plans on lists and departments to trim if needed, but this chaos is pushing them over the edge.
Big business was looking for certainty and less regulation to fuel growth. They got chaos and higher costs from tariffs.
Oil and gas is signaling downsizing based of the uncertainty and raising costs, other industries are as well.
Planned investment has been put on hold, you've got so much loss productivity updating projections almost daily from the tariff changes.

You're already trying to sane wash the unnecessary damage being done and the impacts that are coming as the year goes on.

You really should change the way you phrase your opinions.

You state that things will absolutely happen the way you say it will. You are also wrong with claiming I am sane washing anything without any evidence. Both of these reflect poorly as to your online image and character.

A week of tariffs does not push anyone over an edge. Your lack of experience as to business and finance is quite obvious. Your desperation gloom and doom predictions are pure bluster this early into the scenario.

The market's activity today seems to indicate that we are close to capitulation level. Probably not rock bottom but close to capitulation. We have experience with extreme downside velocity like we have witnessed the last few days. However these are usually followed with a quicker rise than a slow. continuous decline.

Unless you sell you haven't lost anything yet. This is could very well be a major gift to younger investors. Major companies are available at big discounts. Quality that gets beaten up always comes back strong.

I have said multiple times that this is a risky plan, it would be great if you stop misquoting me or lying about my comments, whichever it may be, if you want to continue to engage.

I worked at a bowling alley for a few years during college. We also had a pool hall. I saw quite a few "pool hustlers". None of them were female. Actually, it was the same for bowling "hustlers".
Yep.
Bank shot Ray was always at Purples pool hall ready to relive you of your cash.
Never met bank shot Betty.
