As a golfer myself, if we grew up with noise allowed it would be no problem but we didn’t. Constant noise would not be a problem. It’s the sudden noise in the middle of your backswing that distracts.

There's something special about us Americans, well at least half of us. We don't like to be ruled. We prefer individual freedom and the consequences that come with that. This is why I think we MIGHT find ourselves aligning with some nations in the future that aren't our traditional allies. Not a golf guy, never have been. I have friends who play and have tried to get me out there. Went to the driving range once at Ft. Sill and after about a half hour of hooking and slicing (maybe one straight drive) I gave it up. Drove the cart once for my friends while having a beer or two but that was the end of it.
At 67 I am still playing softball twice a week during spring, summer, and fall. Men's and Co-ed so I tell my friends golf is for old men and when I get old, I might consider it. Nah, I will do more fishing and start bowling.

This is the problem with the left.
