In case any of you are interested, didn't know, or want to share this with elderly relatives:

The vast majority of these are "refund scams"

They typically use an app like AnyDesk. They'll guide the "mark" through the install process and setup. At that point, they can control your computer, Typically, they get a person to pull up their bank, login and check their account balance et. Then they'll copy the bank's website source, and create a "fake" website which is hosted on the targets computer, and direct the browser to that one. (They'll black the screen out while they're doing this and say some nonsense about "performing an update or whatever" It doesn't take long because someone has written scripts that will do this)

They'll say that you're due a 200 dollar refund etc. Then they just open up a command prompt (and call it their "refund software")

Something like:

C:\ Welcome to Unibank refund processing center. Please type in the dollar amount to be refunded: $_

They'll tell the target to type in 200 and press enter (but right when the target types 200, they'll add another zero to it in a flash, and then press enter)

At that point, the scammer pretends to get angry, "WAHT DID YOU DO! I SAID 200 not 2 thousand!!

They'll say they can't claw it back and that they're going to lose their job. (while they're doing this, and out of site of the target, they are modifying the "fake" bank webpage to reflect a deposit of 2000 dollars.

They'll have the target pull up their bank (not realizaing their browser is pointing to the fake) and yes, it really DOES look like that money was deposited, because remember, it's a clone of their bank's actual website.

At this point they get people to go purchase 1800 dollars worth of gift cards (so the poor helpdesk person doesn't lose their job)

Once the target buys the gift cards, they get them to give them the redemption codes and voila, the person just lost 1800 dollars.

And it works, a LOT, because they specifically target old folks that don't know sh*t about computers.

Those bastards deserve to have their nuts cut off.

In case any of you hadn't seen this guy who scams the scammers... hilarious.

Definitely worth at least one watch of him doing a full call. Guy's a legend really.

I posted one earlier.

"Are we buying some cheese? I like to keep an eye on that for the holiday season, dearie." LOL

(10 minutes later the scammer is screaming, "You stupid b*tch! Stop talking about f***ing cheese and do what I TELL YOU to!!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣

I REALLY like the ones where he pretends to drive to store and buy the cards. He has a list of semi-valid redemption codes, and he'll bring up the redemption website (a fake that he has on a hidden drive) and start redeeming them, while the scammer is freaking out. "No ma'am! NO MA'AM STOP REDEEMING THEM! STOP STOP STOP! LOL And he'll say something like, "I was going to buy you a new wallet or some sensible shoes, because you've been so nice." 🤣 🤣 🤣

Victor Davis Hanson perfectly explained the REAL function of USAID:

They are essentially job farms for the academic "elites", IOW kids that graduate from the elite schools with degrees that, to put it bluntly, are mostly worthless in the REAL world.

They graduate, and go to "work" at these NGO's, which are basically "resume builders" for future politicians and non-elected Federal government administrators.

Made up white collar jobs, for made up tasks, for a made up consumer/recipient.

The Federal government is nothing more than an employer or "career destination" for a large segment of well connected Ivy League School graduates, and so their friends and relatives that are already IN the government are going to make damn sure that those graduates are "tracked", and it's easy to do when you have unlimited funds , compliments of the US tax payer. And further, it is one of the main functions of "hidden agenda/line items" in bills/laws. IOW it's why you see a bunch of crap tacked onto say, a BORDER BILL, that at first blush seems reasonable.

That explains the hysterics about Trump wanting to go down to the basement, so to speak, and turn the light on in order to see where the cockroaches flee.

Thats definitely part of it. They have incubators where they take in several candidates and the most promising move forward with the power of the machine backing them. Aoc definitely came out of an incubator and im betting andy came out of their prosecutor outreach incubator.

When the machine backs you, you basically can't lose. Even in very recent history, we know they make sure their candidates get completely favorable msm coverage and social media drives the desired narrative in a modified algorithm. If even a podcaster doesn't get in line, all their sponsors and advertisers are moved to stop doing business. In the very recent election fix we did in Brazil, they even sent election machines down there. Of course the desires candidate narrowly won.

Of course all that backing also comes with a nice payday, even better paydays for those playing power broker.

But yes ....if you got in the club you were literally set and guaranteed a level of riches and power, the only question was how much. All at the expense of us dumba$$es slogging to work in the daily.

Is this set up to make it seem you are smarter than Trump?
That is doubtful.
You don't know what he is willing to risk either.
smarter than trump. You said it! hahahah. I wish. Im an average joe that relies on smarter people than me to make most of my decisions. I don't trust politicians. All are bought and paid for

That Social Security tax repeal is going to be impossible to sell I'm afraid. It would probably move the insolvency D-day closer by a few years.

As a SS recipient, I would benefit but understand and agree with your point. My counter would be to raise or eliminate the FICA maximum. When I was employed, was good with it but it would help in keeping the system somewhat solvent imo

Yeah, we're teetering on the brink of solvency/insolvency. Really need solid measures which alleviate this mess. Eliminating waste is one.

Expecting my first check next week. Between my wife still working and my pension etc. that check is going to get hammered. I still get irritated about how much taxes we pay, it's utterly ridiculous, BUT in the bigger picture nobody wants to hear a person that has been as fortunate as I've been complain. Don't get me wrong, we're not 'rich' but we're on the very low end of our tax bracket, which kind of sucks so...

Sometimes I like to watch that guy on youtube, ScammerPayback

In case you don't know, he traps scammers in India, and reverse connects to the scammer's desktop. There are a few guys on youtube that do this but Scammer Payback is the best. He's got a network of guys that work together, and they've actually been responsible for getting some of the scammer call centers closed.

Anyway, I was just watching a video of his, and he downloaded everything from this scammers computer. All of his emails, some plane tickets, the dude's photo ID, and then low level deleted everything from the scammers computer, and this scammer is FREAKING OUT. Blowing up Paybacks phone (which is a decoy) and telling him he's going to come to America and kill him LOL

This dude provides a valuable service, and it's highly entertaining to watch.

I've seen him hack into the call center CCTV, and he can watch them as he's leading them on (voice changed so they think he's an elderly lady) 🤣

Scammer: "my favorite vacation spot is your Mom's p***y" 🤣 🤣

I had one of Scammer Paybacks threads come across my X feed recently. Good stuff.

Not really a political topic per se, but I just read where WNBA players, namely Angel Reese, are contemplating striking unless their salaries are raised. Ms. Reese plays for the Chicago franchise and makes roughly $75k annually. She is quoted as saying her RENT, presumably in Chicago, is $8/month. I've never lived in Chicago but I'm going to go way out on a limb and guess there are places Ms. Reese could live in the Chicago area that aren't $8/month and she could possibly even find one that is within her budget. What sort of DA lives in a place where the rent is higher than her gross salary and then complains that her employer, which has NEVER in its entire existence made a profit, should pay her more? If I'm an owner of a WNBA franchise that is bleeding cash every single year, once I stopped laughing, I would call Ms. Reese up and plead for her to strike and to convince many other WNBA players to do so, also, so I could cut my losses.

At least now I know all of the DAs aren't located in Washington, DC.

Back to politics, Jasmine Crockett is surely the dumbest individual in DC. I mean, almost every utterance is stream of consciousness full of stupidity, racism, falsehoods and, quite often, incoherent ghetto ramblings (and she's not from the ghetto, btw). AOC is a special kind of dumb, imo, but JC surely is the queen of idiocy.
Not going to comment too much on Angel Reese and the WNBA other than to say I really don’t care what happens.

As for Jasmine Crockett, I’ve seen posts on X about her being a relatively wealthy preacher’s daughter, attended private school, and fairly well educated. The MSM laps up her fake hood persona. It’s clear that she’s a rising star in the woke Democratic establishment.

in all fairness, here is what you're saying ... you're okay with younger people paying more in taxes so you can keep your benefits. There has to be a better way.

It's my understanding that even if you're working at 65, at a place that has great medical benefits that you still have to go on Medicare or face much higher premiums when you DO decide to.

I've still got three years but I'm sort of trying to figure it out/research, and frankly, it looks:

Expensive

and

Convoluted

(and, if you're hospitalized for a long time, and all you've got is Part A, with no supplemental private insurance on top of it, you're going to end up broke.)

** Wise Words Department **

"Bean-counting government bureaucrats are free to take race, ethnicity and gender into account when doling out public funds to non-white-male contractors. But God help law enforcement officers, air marshals and border agents who try to use those same factors to combat terrorism and protect American lives."

-Michelle Malkin

“Happy populist….. Happy warrior….. moderate….” - describing Tim Walz

Absolutely pathetic. This country (and indeed the world) dodged a major bullet by making the right choice on Nov 5 - Sam’s protestations notwithstanding.
Sam’s nothing but a half awake babbling blowhard whose time is so worthless that he spends it here changing absolutely nobody’s mind. The cycle of insanity.

Don’t think that is correct - higher premiums. DM me and I’ll share.

It’s not that complicated but there are a few pitfalls. Medicare Part B is not enough for your care - you’ll pay out the ass imo.

They aren’t planning to repeal the social security tax.

They’ve talked about repealing the income tax on social security benefit payments.

If you have other sources of income while collecting social security, a portion of the benefits are subject to income tax.

It's only true because Kamala doesn't live there anymore.

I didn’t see this posted. I had not heard a staffer brought in a gun during Trump’s speech. This is also a multiple occurrence.

“This is the fourth instance of a gun being brought in a building policed by USCP Chief J Thomas Manger since Trump was elected President. What is frightening to me is that both dates that President Trump attended events at the Capitol it was on a date where a gun made it in one of the buildings and I’m told one of the guns made it in a room where President Trump was actually in and only feet away from him. “
So are people for 2nd Amendment rights or not?

Yeah, I worded that poorly. I was talking about taxes on benefits.
