All I know is that the Big 3 auto makers had to go meet with the dufus King over tariffs.
My buddy that was a Trump voter and builds houses is royally pissed because of volatile building/lumber costs. He can't even F'ing figure out how much to charge someone to build a house right now!
One of my family members can't sleep because she's so worried about whether she will have a job next month or not.

The U.S. gets more than half of its crude oil from Canada, and many U.S. refineries are reliant on that product. Canadian crude oil exports to the U.S. reached a new record of 4.3 million barrels per day last summer.
An analysis from TD Economics last week, using U.S. Census Bureau data, showed the U.S.-Canada energy trade deficit largely mirrors how the overall trade deficit evolved since 2000.
In fact, when those oil exports are removed from the equation, the U.S. actually has a trade surplus with Canada, according to economic data. In 2023, that surplus was more than US$30 billion, the TD analysis showed.

Brother, my dog, a Black Lab/Pit mix, ( almost all BL though), does the same thing. I'm in my recliner most of the time anyway so that I have better access to a heating pad, lol, like I am now, and he's been staring at me for 30 minutes. I love him to death, but he's the neediest dog I've ever seen. He's a 75 lb. lap dog, lol.
I had him neutered yesterday, along with getting his updated rabies shot, so he's been even needier since I picked him up at the vets. He's got several nice comfy places for him to chill, but he loves to lay with me in my recliner. I give in to him a lot because he's such a terrific dog.
He was brought in with his mother and other siblings to the shelter, who were just being weaned. He was the last one left when I came along and took him to his forever home at the age of 13 months, iirc. I guess that would have to be tough to watch your whole family leave one at a time and then be all alone, even for a little dog. And in a shelter. I tend to spoil him, but hell, that's what pets are for.

I had the same deal. We've got a miniature Australian Shepard who would hop up in my lap in the recliner. But I got rid of that recliner (was big/wide) and got a smaller swivel/rocker recliner....and he doesn't get up here anymore. Yeah, with the artillery it was a box of grid squares, a bucket of quadrant bubbles, a TR Double E-10 etc... There were more but that last one, a TR Double E-10 was used on me after they had gotten me with the bucket quadrant bubbles. Our motor pool which was located at the back end of Fliegerhorst Kaserne in Hanau Germany was just short of a tree line so, when they ask me to go get a TR Double E-10, I went out into the trees to the 10th one in and sat down and relaxed. After a couple of hours, they found me and my chief with a smirk on his face said; "Ok, you caught on, so you get to do the next new guy". I believe more and more people are going to start raising their own. I live in a decent neighborhood where each house sits on 1 acre of land. Gives us pretty good space. About 2/3rds of the houses have privacy fences so some have started raising chickens in their back yards. It used to be a couple of houses but, this past year or so about 3 or 4 more have joined in. I have been walking my monster (a 144lb Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees mix) around the neighborhood daily for over 3 years now and have noticed the increase of people doing it. Can't blame them. One of them on the street behind me has turkeys too.
I looked at the laws/regs concerning this and it is prohibited for this town. However, we also have two policemen (1 city and 1 Trooper) who also live in the neighborhood down the street from these houses so, I don't think anyone cares about chickens being there. I am good with it.

The wife rescues lots of cats and dogs. We have lost a cat and a dog to vax related cancers. We spent several thousand dollars on one cat, taking him to a cancer specialist in the Nashville area. There is a link to cancer with the rabies shots. You might want to research it.
