I appreciate you offering me advice, but until proven otherwise, intentional chaos in the markets is stupid. My portfolio is already down and this chit is just getting revved up.
Your portfolio is propped up by government borrowing and spending. The government cannot borrow and spend forever.

Do you really not understand this? Would you accept it easier if it were someone besides Trump who were delivering the necessary remedy?

It is only a matter of time before Canada and Mexico concede or face economic destruction. We will get a better deal for ourselves.

Again, why do we have so many in our country (let’s call them what they are, Democrats) who’d rather have other countries get better treatment than our own?

In short: they see America as the world’s tool, to be used for the good of the world.

They do not see America as a nation, whose power should be used to enrich the people of that nation FIRST AND FOREMOST.

Observe closely in all matters, and you will see this theme come through over and over.

Ok, lets just say you had 2 million in the stock market in January 25. And now your down 5-10 percent or 100,000-200,000 grand. Ok, I can deal, but if this pissing contest keeps going for 6 months to a year, we are going to get a crash in the markets. 2 mil becomes 1 mil. Even if trade war works, the 1 mil will not be 2 mil for years.

The market is way overvalued and has been propped up by endless government waste and spending. For the sake of my son’s future I’ll tolerate market angst that comes with some necessary, fundamental changes to our country. If you are in a situation where your life is impacted significantly by up and down swings in the market, that’s your fault for not having an appropriate allocation and investment strategy.

If they can’t make structural changes that bring down the rate of borrowing for the US government as we start refinancing all this debt, your 401k will be useless anyway.

All of the above is accurate.
No self respecting conservative has/ or ever will have a fanny pack.
Just typing the word fanny gives me the creeps.
Kinda like when Dairy Queen started selling MooLattes. Told my wife you'll never catch me ordering one of those because I refuse to say the word MooLatte in public. That and I'm not a coffee fan, but that's beside the point.

I’d imagine the competent political players are going to reconstitute themselves as a “centrist”* party come midterms, and disassociate from Crockett, Hogg, et al.

*“centrist” will obviously be bullshit. They’ll be anti-American establishment neocons.
Which, I'm sure you know, they've done before....

'Clinton presented himself both as a moderate and as a member of the New Democrat wing of the Democratic Party, and he headed the moderate Democratic Leadership Council in 1990 and 1991.[55][77]

'The Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) was a non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation[1] that was active from 1985 to 2011. Founded and directed by Al From,[2] it argued that the United States Democratic Party should shift away from the leftward turn it had taken since the late 1960s. One of its main purposes was to win back white middle-class voters with ideas that addressed their concerns.[3] The DLC hailed the election and reelection of Bill Clinton as proof of the viability of Third Way politicians and as a DLC success story.[4]

The DLC's affiliated think tank was the Progressive Policy Institute. Democrats who adhered to the DLC's philosophy often called themselves "New Democrats." This term is also used by other groups who hold similar views, including the New Democrat Network[5] and Third Way.[6]

Honestly, even though I'm fundamentally opposed to both, they need to keep taxing SS benefits, AND get rid of the cap if they want to have any hope of saving it.

It's a ridiculous program to begin with, and FDR was an abjectly stupid ape, but we're f***ing STUCK with it. I could get by w/o it, period; but a lot of folks CAN'T

I have had 2 cups of coffee in my 77 years, both coming off guard duty to warm up when it was very cold outside. Couldn't finish either one.

Again, no one said they were all receiving checks, but the ssn are being used, say for IDK millions of illegal aliens or made up voters for mail in voting.

Zelensky is acting as a dictator, to suggest otherwise is ridiculous. He's jailed political opponents, jailed journalists, jailed clergy, banned media, banned a religion, and is opposed to peace because he will get booted out of office. That is a dictator

DOGE is eliminating waste in Gov, reducing govt waste isn't "paying for tax cuts". When taxes were cut in 2017 govt receipt of tax money went up.

I'm not taking Trumps word on European aid, they aren't "giving" anything, Ukraine has to pay them back, and they're using frozen russian assets. where the US is flat out giving Ukraine money and weapons.

If you're suggesting culling millions of egg layers for absolutely no reason didn't cause egg prices to rise you're nuts, it did.
***Zero evidence those SS #s are being used. Nobody has shown that to be true. Name one single person arrested for this crime because of DOGE. Good luck.
***If you think a stronger Russia with Putin as it's dictator is less of a national security threat than a stronger Ukraine...you probably belonged in one of my classes.
This article is a good read on religious issues in Ukraine. Russia involvement as well.
***I'm all for DOGE. Just not Dumb DOGE that ends up costing taxpayers more in the end (lawsuits from illegal firings/back pay/rehiring nuclear inspectors/compromised safety and security/ firing thousands of Vets)
***In November 2024, the average price of a dozen large, grade-A eggs in the U.S. was $3.65, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
A dozen eggs right now is about $5.00 dollars!!!
Trumponomics 🤬

Wealthy already pay tax on 85% of their SS benefits and adding 6% more tax onto wage earners who are already shouldering a higher income tax burden is insane.

The SS program needs to be fundamentally reformed. Squeezing wage earners to fund the Ponzi scheme for a few more years is useless.

Coffee to me is pretty much a habit. 85% of the time I don't care for the taste...but once in awhile it does taste good (mostly at a high end restaurant). That being said I normally have 1-2 cups every morning.

Agreed on the borrowing and spending. Trump is just as guilty as sleepy joe. Both spent like drunk teens in a whore house. But, balancing the tariff trade, if successful, big if, doesn't guarantee balance.

Trump has many failed ventures! He has filed bankruptcy 8 times, where he walks away scot--free, and stuck builders, vendors, investors, regular joes, and lenders with 100s of billions in unpaid debt. Why should I trust a gambler.

I am good to sacrifice as well, but not for a forced trade war that many smarter than Trump do not believe will work.

Trump is willing to Risk a 2008 collapse for a trade war. the 2008 Collapse took 6 years to recover from. The stock market dropped 60 percent and Housing dropped 30-80 percent. The trade War, even if successful, will not make up for such pain

100%

When it was instituted you got to draw benefits at the age 65. At the time the average life expectancy was 62. So on average no benefits would ever be paid.

But oops people started living longer and oh by the way they had been spending the money not saving/investing it
Well they've jacked up the worker payment percents 3-4x. I think it started at around 1.5-2%.

These idiots are under the impression that we import electric and petroleum because we can't do it here. They are literally that dumb. What Ford is about to find out is that 1.2M customers are going to get electric from a US producer and all that income for a Canadian company goes away and will never return. Leftist in Canada are honestly going to destroy their economy to try to stick it to Trump. Death cult.
In the short term we can't, don't have the spare capacity. In the longer term, say a year, we can. But we can install lots of Chinses solar panels quickly.

Bingo! Either endure the pain and fix this mess now or we are all in for a world of hurt. We allowed our government to grow out of control and steal from us and future generations. We cannot continue to allow them to kick the can down the road. This is our last shot before the train comes completely off the tracks.

I've been with KY Farm Bureau for so long it isn't even worth it to shop around anymore. I've tried. but I've also made very few claims in that time and I've bundled my Homeowners and Car insurance. I've only made one homeowners claim in 30 years of homeownership for a new roof after a hail storm. The handful of car insurance claims I've had over those years too haven't been too problematic. Rates went up a bit last year but it wasn't astronomical.
Im nowhere near ky sp I guess AllsTate, etc are my choices.

All I hear is some college kids chanting free Palestine. It's a college campus. So long as they aren't committing violence or targeting specific students... That is a nothing burger.
I also get their frustration that Trump is saying he now owns their homes and ancestral lands.
HAMAS sucks but so does Trump. That area will never be Trump Hotels. It will be Car Bomb City unless a lasting peace deal is reached and Palestine is given a free state.
Trump is an ignorant fool if he thinks otherwise.
Was reading yesterday that no one owns Gaza by international law such that the US could take it over w/o violating any treaty/international law. So could anyone else. They just don't want the problems if they do.

Exactly. Canadians aren't drinking enough bourbon to move the needle. The damaging part is at least some Canadian whiskey is made here before getting sent there.

Why would anyone object to tariffs in the same amount? That should be welcomed.
It's either $40M in bourbon or $40M in US alcohol products, not sure which.

Heard yesterday that Dennis Prager is paralyzed from the neck down. I never listened/watched him much. Good conservative but I thought rather bland and boring. Had heard for the last 4 months that he had had a bad fall at his home, but never heard the details.
Good thing we have a ranch home.

Trumps letter to Hamas: 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

"Shalom Hamas" means Hello and Goodbye - You can choose.

Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you. Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and YOU are sick, and twisted!

I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don't do as I say.

I have just met with your former hostages, whose lives you have destroyed. This is your last warning! For the leadership; NOW is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have the chance.

Also, to the people of Gaza; a beautiful future awaits, but not if you hold hostages. If you do so, you are DEAD. Make a smart decision and release the hostages NOW, or there will be hell to pay LATER.

Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America

CLASSIC LOL
