its crazy how little empathy people have for others anymore. People have been teleworking or doing a hybrid approach for almost 5 years now and productivity is much higher than before in most cases. Going into the office 2 days a week is enough. If you read this story, what exactly is productive about the long commute every day and getttung less done? I’ll wait. I know you won’t have a response other than “well others don’t get to telework”. Which isn’t true either. Hybrid approaches to work are what is the new normal. Why should federal workers be any different other than Daddy Elon shits on federal employees over and over? There is not one single person on here that can give me a good reason why a hybrid telework approach (2 days in the office, 3 t/w) is not a good approach. Other than “well we have empty buildings and that’s embarrassing). Grow up. It’s already tough to recruit solid younger people to work federal jobs. Now what’s the recruiting pitch? “Hey, you wanna come work for much lower pay than the commercial world? No? Well did I mention you have to come into the office every single day unlike the commercial world because the owner of Twitter says so? Does that sweeten the deal at all?”

Likely having them return to the office is just step 1 when it comes to ultimately downsizing many of them. Guessing most aren’t even needed in the first place.

I have a friend who just retired from civil service working in Germany . He would make you reconsider with some of his stories about how hard it is for people to fake work.
He says a 50% reduction in staff would go unnoticed.
Also, how hard they have to try at fiscal year end to make sure every last cent of the budget gets spent.
The Leviathan is a self fulfilling money sucking disaster.

Also, no need to recruit since we have too many federal employees already.

How does it happen? Hiring based on the wrong criteria?
This is likely just a major f*ck up from one or both of the pilots and/or flight control. The Blackhawk’s are flying up and down the Potomac all day/night (you get used to it when you live in the area). In addition, that runway the plane was landing on isn’t used near as often as the main runway at Reagan and requires the plane to cross over the Potomac very low to land on the runway that is both short and right on the edge of the river.

But at the end of the day it’s hard to imagine the helicopter pilot/crew not knowing about a flight coming in. That airport is absurdly busy and the helicopter pilots know that. Just incredibly tragic and leaves a lot of questions about how it can happen.

It is normally called a VERA/VSIP and several admins have attempted it, avoids a RIF. This one is allegedly more generous.
Except a VERA/VSIP is well planned out and doesn’t shit on federal employees like the letter that Elon sent out to federal employees this week. Nice to see the owner of Twitter taking such an active role in how the federal government operates.

Well it looks like DOGE has helped us put an end to spending 50m dollars a year sending condoms to GAZA where HAMAS just ends up using them to make bombs, so there’s that and LOTS more to come I’m sure.

Has Schumer or some other DEM dweeb politicized the plane crash yet? Its coming.
Probably not enough focus on the Tuskegee Airmen or Queer ways of knowing.

Seriously, these kinds of incidents illustrate as clearly as possible: when pilots, or surgeons, or doctors, or anybody else that has a crushing amount of responsibility for the life of another is being trained, that training should focus only on the job at hand. Nothing else matters enough to take even one iota of training time.

2 family members here.

Talked to an old college classmate that's a coroner about what they've seen since then.... frkn crazy what it's done to people.

Just sent a link recently to a report that Ray Stevenson (Punisher, Thor, several Star Wars series) likely died in 2023 from complications of them as well. Suddenly died at 58. Symptoms were anaphylaxis, heart attack, and severe pneumonia, which prevented attempts to resuscitate
Myself and 2 friends (early to mid 50's) all got the first jab. There was a promise of no masking.
None of us ever got #2.
One had arrhythmia, one a stroke, and I myself had internal bleeding within 3 weeks. All in ICU for some amount of time.
Anecdotal for sure, but also true.

Most of America’s jobs are bullshit jobs. Right now, I’m sure most of us could think of a few people who could be gone and you wouldn’t even notice. I’ve worked at companies before where six figure paid execs have left and we didn’t skip a beat.

LinkedIn is filled with bullshit jobs and job titles and so much of it stems from people who don’t want to be bothered with reports or babysitting another person.

Look who doesn’t trust “the science” anymore. Science denier!!!

Exactly.

There isn't any "herd resistance" lmao. If there was "herd immunity" they would no longer be selling the shots and boosters, and people who've gotten the shots wouldn't still be testing positive for the virus.

Does not shock me you’ve injected yourself with numerous versions of those experimental shots because the government told you to.

Does surprise me you woke up like anyone with a brain and started thinking for yourself.

Fear does that. It's definitely not thinking for such cattle as the those on the left

1. No, it isn't.
2. No, it isn't.
3. No, it isn't.
4. Yeah, I can, but you're too ignorant to understand.

Productivity is in the toilet right now, and has been. It got worse with people "telecommuting"

It's amazing how stupid and disconnected from reality people can be when they listen to CNN and the rest of leftwing media

I have shocking news for you. I hope you’re sitting down. Did you know that you can just quit your job if you don’t want to do what your employer tells you? And that you can just go out and find another job where you can work from home?

My question is: why train someone anywhere but a vacant desert?

My friend's neighbor, the one who's child was on the spectrum with severe autism, went out of their way to let them know about how the jab hit their family. Their younger sibling (late 20s-early 30s) lived in Eastern Europe and had gotten a new job. They had ZERO health issues and were in great shape physically. Had avoided the shots to that point but had to get them to start the new position with this company. Got the first one of two and was found dead at home within 12 hours. No evident outward physical harm, and no other explanation.

They’re useful idiots, ignorant sheep ready to twist and turn and adopt the latest talking point they’re fed by their government overlords all while accusing others of being in a cult. I’ve also seen how they think they have empathy 😂 No they’re neurotic and mentally ill. They have no empathy for those who disagree with them.

“OMG! ICE is going to take kids from school. Let me film myself crying!”

Same people didn’t say a word when American families have their loved ones raped and/or murdered by illegals who had no business even being here and are only here because of the intent to import them for big government power.

“OMG! George Floyd! Let’s build a statue for this career criminal drug addict! Let’s destroy neighborhoods and flip society upside down for him.”

Cheers on the murder of Ashli Babbit, a veteran with no record or violence just seven months later and pardons her killer.

“Can’t believe Republicans would criticize a woman of color!”

Same people expressing disappointment that Trump was not killed, and then just months later cheers on a health insurance CEO getting murdered.

I could do this all day.

You’re right, I’ll never understand why what Elon says is gospel to you guys. The federal workforce is huge, I’ll bet you have friends (if you have any), relatives, neighbors that do good work for the federal government. I’ll bet their work/life balance is way better since the hybrid option was implemented. Why shit on them and say they’re unproductive?

Workers have become obtuse and oblivious to their surroundings and it is a continuation of the "all about me" mentality, especially for the newer/younger employee. They have no grasp of how important a company is to their community, and it isn't just filling a seat in a building. True, this doesn't apply to every company, city, etc, but you do have a feeder system when you have employees back in the office....hotels, restaurants, and even retail in general will reap the rewards by having people out and about. We saw how that disintegrated during covid lockdowns.

^^^Looks like I just explained this to Sammy, but I know his shallow mindset will not comprehend.

Because as stated numerous times, they are unproductive.

The Red Cross is involved in all this?
Looks like I made my last contribution to them a few months ago for the N. Carolina hurricane/flood recovery.

For over 70 yrs there have been rumors and accusations re RC. Some sketchy sht also in Bosnian conflict and others.

Rodham family and connections very involved with RC since early 20th century. They were among the lowest pass through rates of charities worldwide back in the 90s when (and why) I stopped donating to them back then, when a friend told me to look them up. They were on a list of ones that passed through less than 10% of their donations to actual action or distribution of funds. Vast majority went to administration and other

There will be a follow on VERA/VSIP coming which should’ve just been step 1. Not a demeaning email from Elon.

No idea of his story but a 50% reduction is BS. Good luck depending on any government entity functioning with half its workforce.

Exactly. "Outsourcing" had the same effect and people realized that at one time. Now that the media is propping it all up by not covering the ill effects, no one thinks about it at all.

It's funny how everyone was freaking out when Pitino was talking about an on campus arena. For years the media spun it that the downtown area would suffer and die if people didn't head there for games. The people bought it, even though they only played about a dozen games that drew large crowds each year. Basically 12 days or so for 3 hours of that day.

Yet they can't grasp the impact of large numbers of workers (who would normally spend 8-9 hours a day at the office for 5 days a week) staying home to work. Businesses from downtown to the outskirts all along the pathway out of town suffer from it. It's a huge deal.

But just one more thing the left will ignore because "it doesn't affect them"

What examples do you have to provide? Do you work in a telework/hybrid environment also? I do. People are way more happy, productivity went way up, no one has wanted to move on to other jobs. I’m guessing you’re just jealous of federal employees and others who can telework in some capacity.

I have shocking news for you. I hope you’re sitting down. Did you know that you can just quit your job if you don’t want to do what your employer tells you? And that you can just go out and find another job where you can work from home?
Yep. And the issue is that the really good people who have options will leave the federal workforce and go work in the private sector. This whole thing from Elon will only get rid of the good people. The lazy ones will stick around regardless. This will have all of the opposite effects he claims to hope for. Just like his handling of Twitter.

I could do this all day.

You really could.

I asked a leftist acquaintance during the Floyd fiasco how many non African American people were killed by or in police custody each year. They couldn't give me a number, of course, but claimed it was a lot less. So I had them look that up along with what % of all violent crime each group committed.

Once they looked it up the conversation basically ended. I asked them if they'd put the same time and energy into protesting a wrongful death of any of the non-criminals killed by police if they were "white" as they were that of a known, violent criminal who was committing a crime and going to die of fentanyl poisoning regardless of how they were arrested.

Truth and light really are the best disinfectants.
