I march to my own beat so I never considered the NPC part. I was referring more to the beginning at the open mindedness of Trump and his action. I can admit now that I had TDS. Still listen to NPR because I like the rock n roots portion on WUKY, but I haven’t read the Bulwark since the election and let my Atlantic membership lapse the summer of last year.
I want to continue being positive about what I like and will continue to ignore the stuff that I don’t agree with. Hopefully if I ever have questions about policies, some folks around here can help me understand the dynamics of whatever it might be.
This will be going up to the Supreme Court in a hurry. I have read that there is precedent in this. Late 19th century a Chinese family had a boy and they tried denying him citizenship on the grounds that we were not accepting Chinese immigrants at the time. Supreme Court ruled that the boy had citizenship.

Like 30 minutes ago SCOTUS granted the application for stay the DOJ filed regarding BOI (which means the filing requirement is back in place).
I’m anxious to see the opinion, because the ability for a district court to issue a nationwide injunction was at issue.
Gorsuch concurred in a separate opinion, and Brown dissented, which is odd. So I’m anxious to see the actual opinions which haven’t been added to the docket yet.

Iirc a few times at least scotus lectured lowers courts on these nation wide bans. Of course their let judges dont follow the law so why would they follow scotus direction.

Trump needs to issue an EO banning the use of the 24 hour clock except by the military.
Alito didn’t give any reasoning in the order. Gorsuch agreed but said he would have taken up the case now to address the universal injunction question.
KJB actually made the most sense in her reasoning. Emergency relief isn’t necessary because the government has been delaying this shit for years already.

If Trump's second term ended today it would still be worlds better than Bidens 4 years. And it's probably a better start than Trump's first term even (though beating Kamala wasn't as huge as defeating the Clintons at the time).

A couple weeks ago I was reading a post on X, can't remember who it was but it basically said that Trump's 2nd term starting this year would be far more significant than had Trump remained in office in 2021. That the cheating (81 million votes), backstabbing from some Republicans, lawfare by the Democrats, coming within less than an inch of being assassinated...that this time Trump was not going to play the Washington games like before.
I agreed with that at the time and it looks to be true. He not only learned a great deal from his first term, but he is doing the things he always wanted to do. More military at the border, full on attack on the bureaucracy, etc.
Saw Cosby's post while writing this, Trump wanted to declassify the JFK files last time...this time he does it. He isn't playing their games or allowing them to talk him out of anything.
