I don't know why it can't just be done in the White House. Or in Mar a Lago. Is there a rule that the inauguration has to be done out in the open?
'The second inauguration of Ronald Reagan as president of the United States was held in a televised ceremony[1] on January 20, 1985, at the White House,[2] and was repeated the following day, January 21, 1985, at the Capitol's rotunda...........
As the weather outside was harsh, with daytime temperatures of 7 °F (−14 °C) and wind chills of −25 °F (−32 °C), the event organizers were forced to move the public inaugural ceremony, which had been planned for the open air, inside to the Capitol Rotunda.'

Thanks to climate change/global warming it will be a balmy 20 degrees on Monday.
Time to replace those cherry trees with palms trees.

Back in the day I was a member of The Capital City Club in Atlanta. Mostly a social/businessman's club at the downtown location. Meet/greet/dinner/drinks, etc. Coke had their very first introduction (before the official press conference in New York (?) ) of their 'New' Coke.
Had cases of it giving it to members that were there that night (happy hour after work). Of course everyone was telling the Coke execs how good it was.....but privately talking in small groups, how it sucked and what a mistake it was to replace Coke with 'New' Coke.
Proved right. Didn't last long.

The actual inauguration and swearing in that matters happens at midnight when Jan. 19 turns into Jan. 20. it's usually a private ceremony. he's already officially President when the ceremonial one happens. They would have to prevent that midnight swearing in from occurring to prevent the transition, and even still, if they took out Trump, wouldn't JD Vance be the successor?

Speaking of marketing gimmics, I remember really liking Crystal Pepsi as a kid and then I remember it went away because of all of the issues that came with it.

I guess it pays to advertise.

NYC is the most disgusting place in America. Garbage city across the board. I can't imagine wanting to live in that shit and pay out of this world to do it.

So given the history of events over the last year, what are the actual odds of an assassination attempt on Inauguration Day? Sadly, I don’t think it’s far fetched at all.
So on which days are assassination attempts not far-fetched?

I know we won, and beat A&M by a good margin, but the refs kept it close by their bulsht calls. I can't stand watching them call fouls on us for a brush or getting all orange stuffing a shot attempt by A&M, but then on the other end we dunk the ball and get bodied and hacked while doing so without a whistle. Its just garbage.
A&M got called for 23 PF's, UK 22. Based on your post, you think UK fouled way less than A&M, right?

This guy is such shit.

Arkansas snagging this guy from us was like some guy taking your wife that you hate and thinking they got this amazing woman only to find out she has now gained 40 pounds and given you a lot of credit card debt.
If that guy takes you off the hook for spousal alimony and child support then you get what happened with Cal. Barnhart played it perfectly.

(I guess Garland hasn't told Pam yet how dangerous those school board meetings are.)

BONDI: "My overriding objective will be to RETURN the Department of Justice to its core mission of keeping Americans safe and VIGOROUSLY prosecuting criminals."

"Getting back to basics: gangs, drugs, terrorists, cartels, our border and our adversaries. THAT is what the American people except, and that is what they deserve from the DOJ."

What I don't understand: oil prices are up about 15% since December which will ripple throughout the economy; 'core' inflation came in lower but the article I read said inflation that affects consumers came in higher; Fed hesitating to cut rates again. Why even announce 'core' inflation if there is another measure that affects consumers more and consumer spending is roughly 70% of GDP? If the Fed is hesitating to cut rates, it means they believe that inflation may not be tamed. Once the lag on oil prices moves on through the economy, we may see inflation take a significant tick upwards. I believe we need to leave interest rates alone and put DOGE to work immediately as out of control government spending is helping fuel inflation. If Trump follows through and does 'drill, baby, drill', maybe oil prices recede and that pressure is alleviated in the economy. The article below from CBS shows how much pretty ordinary grocery items have increased since 2019 and most are 50% or more. The government's CPI measurement is year-over-year, don't forget. The previous big runup in prices is still intact and 3.2% inflation on today's prices is more than 3.2% over 2019's prices. A little fact most idiots in government forget when talking about inflation (or, in AOC's case, too stupid to realize).

hahaha...Eat a dick, Dick.

She is killing these guys:

WHITEHOUSE: The DOJ cannot just start with a name, and then look for a crime. You must start with a crime and look for a name.PAM

BONDI: Yes. That's exactly what the DOJ did to Donald Trump, starting in 2016. That won't be the case with me. I will not target people based on political affiliation.
