I'm a bit torn on this issue. On one hand if they ban TikTok...they will eventually end up banning pretty much any app or website they don't like. We all know they will do that. However tho...TikTok is trash and has an obvious negative effect on people and probably hurts society as a whole. So which side do you take here?

Well, tiktok is a Chinese spy app so I'm for the ban on it, that in itself makes it different than other social media apps. And it's not just spying on random citizen its collecting all your data in your phone, behaviors, etc. That's the thing they weren't going to ban it if the parent company which is connected to the ccp divested itself from them. Which isn't interfering with the free market as tiktok will claim bc its operated connected to a hostile foreign government.

As far as the app itself, yeah it's pretty much a bio weapon. There's been study after study that shows that the way it's algorithm and swipe function are set up that it's literally eating away ppls gray matter and making them dumber bc its jacks your dopamine all up. There's a reason China itself has banned the app.

Everyone was in a celebratory mood, it was unnecessary. His message was out of the blue, when I read it my first thought was 'Why?'. We are less than a month before Trump takes office...it's the holidays...what the f-ck are you doing Vivek? haha.

I still think it is a small matter that will blow over quickly if some on X will let it...Elon hasn't helped matters, he has deleted a couple of approving responses to posts that were really insulting of Americans. Everyone was happy until Vivek stirred sh-t up, now we got Musk calling some Republicans racist. I still like all parties involved, Trump maybe doesn't get elected without Elon. Still a big Elon fan, also agree with some of the conservatives arguing with Elon/Vivek on this particular issue.

Here is H1B visa application for a Thai restaurant in Louisville. The price was $27K in '23 but I've seen a page showing it's down to $22k in '25. People need to quit pretending we are just recruiting the top 1%. We aren't even getting the top 10%. We are just getting the people willing to work for crumbs in areas that cost Americans $150K to get a degree. You'd think Dore would be on our side since Vandy is an expesive school but I feel like since they aren't taking Lawyer jobs yet he doesn't give a shit.
