I feel the complete opposite. The younger gen of democrats are basically communists with zero room for disagreement.
They’ve been brainwashed. By our education system, by our entertainment industry, by our social media platforms, and even by out scientific institutions.
If you even hint at disagreeing with even one of their believes, they immediately go into hyperventilation mode/needing safe spaces and therapy/call you a bigoted nazi, uneducated racist and so on.
There are videos out there all over the place of them disowning their Trump voting parents/family/friends/neighbors.
The old guard is (was?) the Dems last chance to salvage their party from the extreme/communists. Unfortunately for them, all the sane ones are running away from them and into the arms of the GOP.
Which is fine - I welcome any sane-thinking person into the party, even if I disagree with some of their beliefs/policies. I just wish they would stay in their own party and attempt to bring sanity back to it.
Perhaps the youngest dems, but I am in my mid 30's and I listen to many more central voices. The youngest will come around. Every generation starts extreme left before working their way to the middle.
Name three accomplishments of Kamala Harris you believe qualify her to run the most complicated country in the world.
You voted for her, she literally PAID rich people to endorse her. She took a BILLION DOLLARS from rich men and blew A BILLION PLUS TWENTY MILLION. She represents the party of the rich and actually outspent her own campaign so badly Trump offered (ironically) to pay it off for her. YOU should be embarrassed.
Do you favor Nancy Pelosi, whose Congressional salary is $182,000 but she's worth over $200M? She obtained that wealth AFTER her first election. Did you begrudge her lack of divestment?
You're full of shyte.
Barr and Bolton were fired.
Pence is a little shit who has since come back and endorsed Trump.
I love how you're all about "allegations." But proof? Nah, right bruh?
Harris supported legalization of marijuana as a senator.
As VP, she was the deciding vote for the CHIPS act, Inflation reduction act, and the infrastructure bill. I'm not here to defend the merits, just stating that I think all three of these were beneficial to us
Campaign promises were enough to get me on board. The additional taxes on tax brackets that make 250K or more sold me. I am a single issue voter in that I really want to redistribute wealth from the top to the bottom and I want to reduce the deficit. You can call me a dumbass if you want, many people have done that over the years, but these are my biggest issues.
Pelosi, Scott, and Menendez from NJ , and many others are all phony a-holes that should be sanctioned with fines or jail time for the wealth they have accumulated in office. They all suck and the fact that they won't tackle this problem pisses me off.
I could say more about Trump, but I really don't want to argue about him. I am willing to give him a clean slate so that he can accomplish what he believes will help the US and we can judge him accordingly.
Also, I don't know how to do this, but back in July when Biden announced he was stepping down, I firmly believed we'd have some sort of caucus before Ohio. I was really big on Mark Kelly, but unfortunately the powers that be didn't allow any additional challengers. /shrug
I’m trying to take your advice and not be so confrontational, but shit like this makes it hard.
He was the first President in forever - maybe ever - to lose wealth while POTUS. He never took a dime of his salary and donated it to other institutions.
He gave up his golden years to run for President to help this country. In the process, his constitutional rights were violated, a coup was attempted to remove him before he ever stepped foot in the White House, an investigation was opened up to hamstring his first term, they stole an election, tried to bankrupt him, tried to imprison him, and tried to keep him off the ballot this go ‘round.
So pardon me if I don’t think he used the office for his own personal gain. And pardon me for thinking he *did* sacrifice a ton for this country…..almost sacrificed his life for it.
I appreciate the longer leash. The vagueness of his finances just doesn't sit well. Once a person reaches a certain threshold of fame, money, or power, they have to prove in tangible ways that they are telling the truth. Word alone isn't enough for me. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything to counter this. Am open to changing my mind on this if the evidence is presented.
