We're just having a conversation. Why do you avoid the other side of an argument?

The FBI crime statistics you’re using to back a claim that crime has gone down have been proven to be complete horseshit numbers they were manipulating prior to the election. Anyone who actually pays attention knows that. It’s no debatable.

There's 30 years of data that shows the same thing. Objective fact that it is safer now in the US than any previous decade. Same can be said about each subsequent decade.

Can you show us this data over the last 5 decades? And not the recent manipulated, fake, incomplete FBI numbers.

I remember reading an article years ago (can't remember specifics) I believe back when Gore kept saying 'lock box'. Said that SS...lock box....was nothing but paperwork, files, etc filed in a building in West Virginia. One of the many federal buildings, etc (pork) that Robert Byrd had built in the state.

Yes Sir,

I remember that. Even that was a lie. SS has always been put in the general fund. Both sides have pillaged that fund relentlessly.

It's a moot point. Trump is going to send a mass exodus of folks out of the country. We'll see if that is good or not. I am curious how Trump deals with the Ukraine (and by proxy Taiwan) this go around.
At the most by far Trump will deport is 2M of say 12M illegals here. I think it will be <05.M. We'll see.

Would it?

The US has no business in the Ukraine. Yet here we are, spending hundreds of billions and discussing nuclear war after trying to bring Ukraine into NATO.
Besides the US, which countries do we have business in? Why those?

I listened to this on the way to work the other day. My stance on Trump is let him and his administration do what they feel is appropriate and we can judge him at midterms. I don't want him impeded so that we can fairly assess him without people crying foul or using scapegoats in the event he fails.

I hope that I eat a lot of crow over the next few years.

So where do you get your news? If you are in a pinch and you need to know something where do you go?

“News” comes from X feed, a lot of shit posted here, WSJ and Bloomberg. Accounts I have generally found to be accurate or have good perspective after years.

If it’s something that actually matters to me (like tax policy), I go to the source documents.

Why don’t you go ahead and tell me where you warhawks are going to drop bombs next, and I’ll tell you if I agree with it.

If we are going to back any coups or help over throw current regimes to promote freedom and western ideals, I could probably be convinced we start with Canada and England.

Corrupt shitholes like Ukraine can live under Russian rule do all I care.

I'm good with that. I just think too many illegals are too imbedded in the workforce/economy & yes, society, to evict more than criminals, gangs(if there's a difference), & recent arrivals, meaning 1-4 years. It's clear we need people to do manual labor that most Americans won't anymore. Funny, I'm having more insulation put in today & I judge they're all native Americans. Not easy work imo.

Crime is down and has gone through each of the last 5 presidents.

Drug OD is down 18% from last year.

It's okay to celebrate good things and those are good things that transcend presidents.

I’m talking about aggressive and criminal acts committed specifically by illegals. Not overall national statistics. You know, the ones that aren’t supposed to be here just like those Russians inside your Ukraine.

A citizen getting raped and their head bashed in with a rock by an illegal and a citizen getting raped and shot in the head by a Russian soldier are both horrific things that should not be happening.

The difference is you have outrage over one and silence over the other. Why is that?

Thanks. So I take from this your belief is next to none & thus that we should exit all defense treaties (Yes, I know we have none with Ukraine.).

I disagree - we've been around on this several times - & if that makes me a warhawk in your eyes, I'm fine with that. There are too many worldwide bad anti-freedom actors that will take immediate exit from Ukraine as a greenlight to do whatever they want wherever. That won't end well for us imo.

The FBI’s preliminary 2023 data show murder declined by 13.2% across the country and violent crime dropped 5.7% compared to 2022 levels. Various news headlines have reported the FBI’s numbers unquestioningly, claiming murder is “plummeting” and violent crime “declined significantly” to pre-pandemic levels.

But these latest figures warrant skepticism, as we outline in a new report. In fact, violent crime is up substantially from 2019 levels, and last year’s apparent drop is less significant than it appears.

Part of the problem is how police departments report offenses to the FBI. The FBI asked, then demanded, that law enforcement agencies “transition” away from the system they used for decades to a new, more detailed but onerous one. The 2021 mandate to use NIBRS to submit crime data proved a disaster as overstretched departments, especially in large cities, failed to reach compliance and thus did not submit data.

In 2019, 89% of agencies covering 97% of the population submitted data, but by 2021, that coverage plummeted to less than 63% of departments overseeing just 65% of the population. Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City all failed to submit crime data. To increase participation, the FBI relaxed the NIBRS requirement in 2022, allowing agencies to report via the legacy system.

But many other cities, such as St. Louis, which had transitioned to the new method, still struggle to comply and submit partial or faulty data. The FBI compensates by relying more heavily on “estimation,” or informed guesswork, to fill in the gaps and produce aggregated data.

Have listened to WUKY for years and I think it is a great resource, albeit skewing a little towards the left.

Also read the BBC, associated press, and listen to TLDR daily.

I'm none of these guys, though, it is convenient that none have commented since I've jumped on board. Still, hoping to have some good discussions with you guys.

Dude. You're not fooling ANYONE.

Keep flogging that chicken, troll.

You haven't had a good discussion yet. All you've done is lied and misrepresented and failed to respond.

Want to show you're for real?

Fine.

How did you find this forum and why is your first comment in the political thread instead of the Rafters or the Lair? This is a KENTUCKY SPORTS FORUM.

Mentioned that before. Posted under Sheppard15 from 05-09. I partied with Dusty Mills a time or two and had a buddy play at Berea and scrimmaged the team prior to them playing down in Knoxville (Meeks 54 game). These were my only major contributions to RR. Rupp Rafters was a bit too much and I switched to Twitter, but kept up with Gyero during that time because of those dude's connections. Recently started reading other threads and this one caught my attention because of the confidence in Trump. After the election I made a point to get on here and offer a different viewpoint.

I have shown more articles that I care to admit and want this to be more of a discussion than a debate. So anytime I feel like I can interject with a different viewpoint with knowledge I will. Don't plan on badmouthing during my time and hopefully we all learn a little bit more from opposing sides.

anti-freedom actors lol

Yes, that’s what the US government is fighting these wars for.

Christ.

The same people supporting this Ukraine bullshit are the people who locked the country down during Covid. Same people supporting Zelenski suspending elections. Same people who supported the 2014 coup.

Pretending this is about “freedom” is delusional.
