This is typical for the Democrat Party. Riley Gaines is a vocal critic of Leftist policy against Men playing Women's sports....so they, as Schmuk U Shoomer stated, have "6 ways to Sunday" to get you. In this case they go after her Brit Univ KY scholley hubby. Deny him legal status because he believes in, His Body His Choice. Eff you Dems. All of you. You suck and are an existential threat.

Does anyone know that Trump is actually interested in Rogers? Just seems odd as most of his picks have been centered around going against the corrupt swamp monster that is the DC establishment, and Rogers would be the exact opposite in one of the most important positions Trump is going to appoint. I find it hard to think that Trump, after being completely rail-roaded by the deep state/corrupt DOJ, is going to put the exact type of person who is all for using the DOJ as a weapon to go against Trump in charge.
good news

Maybe they can be successful with decreasing the level of the swamp a bit but highly doubt it’s the drain a lot of us were hoping for.
What I said in '16 regarding Trump also goes for Elon and Vivek. Huge difference in running a company than dealing with government/swamp. When you run a company...what you say goes. Dealing inside/outside government is a totally different ballgame.

They are going to run into landmines from the Swamp they have never dealt with before but am hoping their superior intelligence (especially Elon) can be 2 steps ahead at every turn.
So when McConnell's term is up in 2026, assuming he calls it quits at that point, will we be at risk of losing that seat to a Democrat in KY? I know Daniel Cameron was who he essentially groomed to replace him eventually, but would Cameron even make it out of a Primary? Who do we realistically need to run to ensure that seat stays red? Should Massie consider running for it, even if it means giving up his Dept. of Agriculture appointment? Who will the Dems likely run?

I'm curious where the Mike Rogers "interest" even supposedly came from? There was no reason to think he would want Rogers for FBI. He (to my knowledge) has never said anything about him. Wonder if it was a name RINOs were pushing?

Some on here yesterday (or maybe day before) were saying that Gaetz resigned from THIS Congress...had won his election two weeks ago...so would be able to serve in the NEXT Congrress ('25, '26). I didn't think that was right. When you resign...you resign. This article seems to point that out...plus Trump put Gaetz up for appointment to get him out of the way in the House.

McConnell’s term isn’t up 1/3/27 unfortunately. Don’t think Kentucky has elected a Democrat Senator since Wendell Ford left office in 1998.

From an outsider (non resident) it seems to me that Cameron ran an awful campaign when he ran for Gov plus a lot of cases he pursued during Covid, etc were nothing more than 'knee jerk reactions'

Geez, Entire homes can be built for that amount of money. That's a prefabricated unit, built in a shop somewhere. and what's to prevent some punk peeping tom kids from jumping up and grabbing those bars up top to take a look inside? I would not be comfortable taking a piss in there, can't imagine how a woman would feel about it.

is there nothing preventing Desantis from reappointing him back to the seat?

Well, considering we've only had a total of three senators since 1998 and incumbents typically win. McConnel winning in 1984 was the first time since the 50's an incumbent got beat. I just see that seat as vulnerable if we don't put forth strong candidates.

Fully understand your thoughts on it. But I presume most of the opposition to Gaetz was because he went against the uniparty in ousting McCarthy.

So in my opinion, it’s not a good sign they’ve got this momentum, and even worse when you hear Mike Rogers’ name being floated for FBI.

Trump has made some good picks. Some not so good. But it seems like the longer things go, the more influence the uniparty had over his decisions and that’s what killed his first term. AG and FBI director were two critical pieces that allowed (and promoted) the Russia collusion hoax.

Bondi seems like a good pick given the X reaction from people I generally end up agreeing with. However, the uniparty victory over Gaetz is not a good sign for the MAGA agenda given the uniparty history of torpedoing Trump.
It is a good sign that a poor pick was rejected, regardless of who caused it. This can't be a Trump rubber stamp world. Good grief.

It will be Barr's seat unless he gets promoted within the house to a position he is currently being vetted for. Andy won't run against Barr, but he will if Barr isn't on the ticket.

@tommyg4uk Gaetz had to have cut a deal to get Rubio’s seat, correct?
He resigned from current congress. He could technically still be sworn in for next congress on J6 '25 from I've heard. He could also be appointed as special prosecutor on WH counsel. Sounds like Trump does want him in loop though. Too many people making too many different claims right now to know... I guess that helps figure out leakers???

You even read what you write? Punished Cost You're talking what their parents did in the past, not what the kids did or are doing. The kids were incapable of crime. You want to charge the kids of US prisoners for the cost of incarcerating them? You want to stop their welfare benefits because their parent is jailed? Don't want to let them go to school because schools cost money & the savings could be used to pay for keeping their parent? You'd have to show me the data that Hispanics, or any group for that matter, want long term child age illegal immigrants deported. I flat don't believe you.

As for what's going on now, I've always opposed illegal entries. I want the laws enforced on adults that come here. You somehow must think I think otherwise. Another silliness made up in your head. You apparently don't know that learning a language when young is a lot easier than later. And regardless of the language - maybe they're Jamaicans - you're happy with them begging wherever vs. working here? Good grief. I honestly don't think Trump & Holman are talking departing 10M illegals but rather 1-2M. The people I describe wouldn't be those.
How bout this hoss.... Trump hasn't been sworn in yet. We haven't deported the guy who just raped and murdered a college student.... how about you quit whining until one of your tenants get deported before you start crying.... Please and thank you.

This is as good of a 24 hour melt as you will ever see.

Ellen is known for being horrible to her staff and guest. She has been sued a few times and been called out for it repeatedly. Weird how it always is swept away because of her politics.

I think he means that if Putin takes significantly more chunks of Ukraine, that he will have troops on the borders of more NATO countries than he has now- Finland, Estonia, Lith, Latvia, Poland. JMT.
If not having more borders with Russia is a good thing then why do want to keep adding countries to NATO that border Russia? wouldn't a buffer zone be better in that case?

Anti MAGA Rhinos been identified. Gaetz takes Rubios Senate spot. Trump appoints his real AG.

Maybe, maybe not. I don’t think Trump sat around for 4 years without war gaming all this w a Gaetz pick.
$100 says that even though VH has said Trump spent too much and we need to cut spending... as soon as DOGE comes out with cuts he'll be the first one whining. Mitch is against everything until it's actually possible to do something and then he's for it.

Well all the MAGA senators thought he was a good pick, and the shitty uniparty permanent government assholes agreed with the lunatic and anti-American democrats that it wasn’t a good pick. Or they just torpedoed it to avenge personal grievances.

But no, when you’re on the same side as the democrats, like McConnell often is, you’re wrong. Especially if you’re just teaming with the democrats to settle personal scores.
