Garland weaponized the DOJ to go after Trump and Trump supporters. They are arresting Christians for praying outside of abortion clinics. Some of these cases the DOJ had refused to bring charges while Trump was in office due to nobody actually preventing someone from entering the facility. Garland got into office and they twisted that law as far as they could. 70 year old woman got over 10 years for just praying outside of a building... No excuse to keep Gaetz from being AG if you voted for Garlands corrupt ass.
This ^^^ is what Obama’s “Hope & Change” campaign promised when he ran for POTUS the first time…complete transparency. But of course he didn’t follow through on that promise and his administration wound up doing the exact opposite during BOTH terms.
Not disagreeing with you…but voting to confirm Gaetz is going to be used against every Senator up for re-election in 2026 (whether fair or not)…
NC, IA, OH, NE, ME and potentially Alaska are all going to be hotly contested.

I know what your saying but the media has collapsed. MSM have lost over 50% of the viewership since the election. Advertising money has ran from cable news. The media can't whip up a frenzy like they used to be able to do. Random X accounts have the potential to move the needle more than cnn and msnbc now. Charlie Kirk is planning an event in SD to pressure Thune. People in DC need to stop worrying about what democrats think about them and think about what their own voters think about them.

Ads will be run on all platforms, not just cable news. And cable news may not be as prevalent, but is still a major factor.
Thune isn’t one to give into Charlie Kirk. He wants to keep the majority in the Senate.
Gaetz just won’t be a popular vote in a lot of these states that are up for Senate. And that does come down to what voters think about them.
And yes, Collins and others aren’t straight party line (don’t like the term RINO, it’s very constituent depending appeal)…but that’s as good as you’re going to get if you want a Republican elected in Maine. Better to have someone who votes with you 70% of the time than 10% of the time.
But like I said earlier, having Tim Scott as NRSC Chair is huge. He is well liked by all, raises a shit load of money (has folks like Larry Ellison in his corner), has helped out a lot of these folks up for re-election, and is extremely savvy behind the scenes.
Going to be interesting. And again, not saying you’re wrong…but there are a lot of nuances.

I'd prefer this to a recess appointment. Would get to see if it sticks because Dims will sue. If it does, no need to ever have Senate nomination hearings.
