False. The president adjourning Congress himself just to make recess appointments has never been done before. In fact, adjourning Congress under Article II, Section 3 has never been done before at all.

Well, they have balls, but it is never theirs.Wish they would but they're all mouth and no balls
LOL.Well, they have balls, but it is never theirs.
You switched the N and the O.Wish they would but they're all mouth and no balls
The President's power to adjourn congress is the perfect check to Congress' abuse of the pro forma session. Sorry you don't enjoy politics. Keep whining. Every news outlet is whining but none of them can dispute the fact that Trump DOES have this power. The president adjourning Congress himself just to make recess appointments has never been done before. In fact, adjourning Congress under Article II, Section 3 has never been done before at all.
Well stated, warrior-cat. You always have the best arguments.False.
Don’t let the door hit your sorry ass on the way out!
I always thought his music sucked.Awesome. Elites can spread their luxury beliefs elsewhere. And I effing HATE Springsteen and his awful talentless music.
But they'll let players kneel.
Pretty sad state of affairs. I bet their offices are getting calls from pissant woke sponsors…….which is basically all of their sponsors. But they'll let players kneel.
Let the league implode.
Meanwhile, our resident potty mouth has his ass handed to him yet again. So you understand why I am disagreeing with this dipshit obviously.
According to the Congressional Research Service, President Ronald Reagan made 240 recess appointments (average 30 per year) and President George H. W. Bush made 77 recess appointments (average 19 per year). You think recess appointments make Trump a dictator? What an idiot lol. Trump wouldn't even be the first President this century to do recess appointments.
More jobs for the rest of us!
How many were cabinet level appointments? And how many were to ram through appointment(s) that apparently would not be successful even in a friendly Senate?According to the Congressional Research Service, President Ronald Reagan made 240 recess appointments (average 30 per year) and President George H. W. Bush made 77 recess appointments (average 19 per year).
President Bill Clinton made 139 recess appointments (average of 17 per year).
President George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments (average of 21 per year).
President Barack Obama made 32 recess appointments (through February 1, 2015), all to full-timepositions
. The American people are not going to be Trump's savior nor will a majority suddenly rally behind him. But yes, ThIs CrAp WiLl BaCk FiRe On ThEm.
Judging by your posts, you're likely never too thrilled with life. This decision has actually ruined your evening lol. Here's some truth - a majority voted for Biden in 2020. A majority don't buy Trump's election fraud bs claims. A majority don't want him (or Biden) on the ballot. A majority won't be sad if Trump is off the ballot. Quit hanging off the guy's nads as if you can't breathe without him. It's shocking how you guys have latched onto this old ass man as if he's your daddy.
I’ll say this one more time - this thread and social media isn't real life. Sometimes posters here not only forget that but have trained themselves into believing MAGA has somehow become a majority. It hasn't. It's why republicans haven't won much nationally in years. If the MAGA minority continues calling the shots, the losses for the right nationwide will continue.
I'm enjoying the thread and the far right turning on Haley. She's someone who would actually win (with ease) and republicans would have the whole "first woman POTUS" thing too...but instead the usuals have circled the wagons and think America wants to see Donald Trump for a third straight presidential cycle. At year's end, maybe some of you will finally get over Trump. We know Dems will unite behind someone else after Biden. Will Repubs? Or will we see Trump as the nominee again in 2028? Or will R's be searching high and low for another MAGA candidate not realizing MAGA isn't the majority of this country?
I think we're just weeks away from this thread pretending Trump will win again after most of you admitted repeatedly that on a national level, he's done.
MAGA isn't the majority and being pissed at other races isn't going to help your bitter side win national elections. It's like MAGA world doesn't care about elections, they just want to rage.
"Woke Pope" is a good one. Let's crush the Pope because he doesn't get on a stage and praise Donald while calling trans people freaks lol. This is just more proof that whatever anger and hatred spewed in this goofy thread on a daily basis is a minority view and a majority of the country isn't with you on this
Oh, you telling lies alright. You just don’t realize it because you’re a smarmy, arrogant asshole. If your MAGA candidates keep losing, is it smart to continue backing them and this silly movement that a majority of the country isn't down with? But please...keep lashing out at invisible enemies on the internet lol.
Tell me when I'm telling lies.
I had to stop right there. Too many to go through about how MAGA isn’t the majority 😂Lol stop buying into screwduke's wish for violence. MAGA isn't close to a majority

He is little more than a skeleton at this point. Still as big of a prick as ever though.

Gotta drop this one in here too. Where’s that salute, Mr. Above The Fray Moderate?Serious take here before I leave...
If I'm incorrect then I'll salute this thread which will be celebrating and hopefully Don gets shit right in his four years. If I'm correct, then I look forward to the tired fraud and stolen excuses. R's had their chance to beat a weak candidate and they're going with the same guy who is incredibly divisive who a majority of the country either hates or wants him to shut the hell up and move on with his life. Great choices by both sides!

That is how I have heard it described as well. From what I understand, only Johnson has to sign off on using a recess, is that right?
You still think the senate is friendly just because the R’s hold the majority? Man, some people will never get it.How many were cabinet level appointments? And how many were to ram through appointment(s) that apparently would not be successful even in a friendly Senate?

As a Republican, I don't care if Johnson can use the recess appointment. This is not the intended use. Let it play out. If it costs us Gaetz, so be it. I won't shed any tears.
From my understanding: Since mitch says no recess appts, let us say the senate fails to set a date. Johnson can call for a date to recess the house. That would allow the president to step in and set a date to resolve the dispute. I'm certain the D would fight it. It appears to be in the constitution, but I don't think it has been used in that manner before. Not 100% on it though. From what I understand, only Johnson has to sign off on using a recess, is that right?
As well we should.Face it. MAGA wants revenge, retribution, & blood.

If it were up to me, I'd start at the very top of this graph and start investigating how they managed to beat a very good S&P by 500% or more. Honestly, there may be a very legitimate reason - start up company went crazy, they bought a bunch of options (leverage) on NVDA or others that went through the roof (although I'd question WHY they were so inclined to do so since leverage works both ways), and other ways. But, my guess is there's something fishy about many of these jokers making so much money in the market in one year. Maybe that's how so many somehow go from somewhat well off to fabulously wealthy in just a few years of 'public service'.Wow. Mitch is pretty normal.
