I'll bite. What's the difference between her and someone who comes here from Haiti legally (not as an asylum seeker) under temporary protected status (TPS)?
When she came here, the government was likely not 36 trillion in debt; she very likely didn’t depend on welfare; she fled actual persecution and not plain old poverty (the de facto state of the entire third world); the government didn’t dump 20,000 of her on a small town that had no hope of handling that number.

Your thinking is just plain old wrong: poverty is not something that makes one a refugee, or deserving of protected status. It is something that every nation must defeat on its own.

Towns in every state in the union are being destroyed on purpose:

There's some evidence. It took me 1 minute to find examples. This isn't difficult. It's clear that we have at least SOME issue not vetting the illegal immigrants/AS.. or, we'd be able to suss out a lot of them, and turn them away.

Jesus. Where is the proof of this? No offense. Do you have some data to back this up? Maybe a legit site with legit numbers that have been peer-reviewed?

I would bet my entire house that if you sent back all the 'illegals' to their own country we would have a bigger economic issue. Most of these 'illegals' are the backbone for jobs that Americans are too damn lazy and cheap to do themselves.

And Dictator Trump's entire small empire was built from them. He didn't personally take care of his apartments and houses himself. And you better believe he didn't take the most expensive route to improve those places.
Shouldn’t you have at least a LITTLE shame to suggest that citizens have to follow the law but illegals don’t?

Because whether you comprehend it or not, it is what you’re saying.

Don’t conflate “immigrant” with “illegal”. They’re not the same.

Just bringing this up because it's a fact that we're all immigrants to this country unless you have native American heritage.

And for the record, we took over the country after invading it.

So, should we throw ourselves out?

EDIT: If this makes too much sense, I can change it.
This was sold to Americans during the mid-20th century by people of certain ancestries. My ancestors were all here before 1775. They started arriving as early as 1609. My ancestors left Great Britain and immigrated to British colonies. It wasn't exactly a shocking change of culture

So spare me the immigrant b*******.

I think my ancestors named Washington gave a little more to the country than someone that got here from Haiti 6 weeks ago.

“Officer & the citizens are still battling violent crime daily, but it’s recent changes in crime reporting that have done more to create the illusion that all is well. If you re-categorize violent crimes like aggravated assault & you say this is a misdemeanor now, man, you’re going to — you’re going to really drive statistics down on, on violent crime. If you — if you say we’re not counted as a theft, if it’s not above 950 bucks or in one of the towns in my — my state, 2,000 bucks, you’re going to drive your theft and burglary statistics.”

That was my favorite part about reading about "Asylum Seeking" yesterday. Basically, if you're poor or feel "prosecuted", you have the right to basically say "let me in!" and we open the doors.

As a UK and New York Jets football fan, I feel prosecuted every day I wake up. Where's my free lunch?

I went ahead and beat @nssdigitalchumps to the punch of what will inevitably be "You believe police?!" or "OMG It's Fox News LOL"..

Ok, what do you think of our policy about Venezuelans? Do you think they are political refugees since they live in an authoritarian socialist country?

Yeah, not the same. If you have people who are willing to be paid peanuts versus Americans who demand a wage to live on, who are you going to hire?

Someone is either going to make money or lose it. lol...it's so easy to see this. I'm ashamed I had to type it.

I mean yeah, it’d be better if they’d work for free but I’d definitely rather pay pennies on the dollar to illegal aliens who can’t report me to the government for abusing them than pay living wages to anyone.

And the debate thread gets deleted. Puss moderation. Maybe a moderator who posted in that thread with a goofy thought did not like how people responded to his comment? I hope that was not the spineless case, because I have enjoyed that person over the years and don’t want to perceived them as that weak.
Can't they lock a thread w/o deleting it?

were “native americans” immigrants to this country or did they just magically materialize here?

Ok, what do you think of our policy about Venezuelans? Do you think they are political refugees since they live in an authoritarian socialist country?
Hoo boy. You may or may not know that the dictator of Venezuela is not far on the political spectrum from the “Democrat” party: command economies, rigged elections, destruction of gun rights and free speech.

Are we political refugees, Dore?

Now, back to practicality: on what planet, in what reality, is it sound policy to admit tens and tens of millions of people who cost us billions, are low skilled, who DO NOT SHARE OUR CULTURE, and broke our laws to get here? No matter what their government is like?

Have you not thought about all this before you post?

I'd love to know what percentage of those are gang-related shootings. Which, you might say "what's the difference?"

The difference is those shootings are generally targeted or "domestic" by nature. Person A wronged Person B, so B shoots A. And while tragic, and obviously dangerous to others, no one else was a target.

If you go through Wikipedia's listings of mass shootings, you'd be surprised to see that probably 80% of those are gang-related, and therefore, really don't affect others (aside from the problem if stray bullets of course). And while I'd rather not see anyone killed.. I'm also not as concerned or worried for my kid in regards to a Chicago school shooting between two antagonizing individuals.
School mass killings seem to me to be lone wolves with grievances against the school or other kids.

Who did they take it from?

Even more fun stuff.
They took it from each other, butchering each other for millennia.

What a silly, silly argument. There is not ONE group of humans on the planet who have not displaced another.

But only in America and Europe do we find people who want to criminalize and delegitimize their own civilization because of it.

What does this tell us about people who hold these beliefs?

Well you see they’re pure of heart, unblemished with sin since 20,000 years ago they stumbled upon an uninhabited wilderness. So you can’t be here and we have to allow 5 billion refugees from poverty because it’s ok if THEY’RE here. Just not you, whitey.

Got all that? Because that’s what they seem to think.

I stopped reading right there. This is the level of STUPIDITY that kills a free country. You really think the government/tyrants will stop at stuff you don't care about? You are an imbecile if you think this way. Eventually they'll come for you and nobody will stand up for you because you didn't care enough to care about the others. Dumbass 🤡
I don't own a weapon and I approve this message.

Again, you like everyone else here wants to throw all immigrants (except maybe H-1B's or those here on student visas) into the "other" bucket and claim they are all "illegals". Those who come here on TPS status from select countries are not illegals. Cubans are not illegals. Immigration policy is very complicated and for sure our system needs to be overhauled and illegal immigration needs to be halted. But that is not what the "Haitians are eating our pets" BS is about. For you and many others, it really comes down to what you bolded in your post - the part about "sharing our culture".

It's not either/or. Both can be true. The moderators sucked & favored Harris, clearly. Trump let his anger get the best of him mainly thanks to Kamala, not the moderators. She was able to look better than she ever has because the questions ignored her vulnerabilities & not being held to the same standards as Trump.

Even people who don’t like Trump can objectively see that the moderation was not fair. They corrected him and drilled down when they felt he did not answer. David Muir even told Trump that he did not think Trump’s previous comments were sarcastic. Dude, your opinion does not matter squat!

Kamala repeated some debunked stuff because she knows the media won’t correct, and she was right. She also did not answer the tough questions and seemed confident the moderators would not challenge her non-response. Of course, she was right.

No objective review would agree with the Hall Monitor. So, don’t let him shame you into conformity. It is his typical post and it is BS.

My grandfather came to this country, his parents told him he could only speak English, even at home with family. I am not sure as many people have that approach today when the migrate to a new country where the language is different.
No offense, but he'd have learned English regardless. I prefer immigrants keep/teach their kids their former homeland's language. I think an extra language or two helps you in the long run. My German ancestors came here in the 1840's and many descendants kept using the language to WWI came along. Dang shame that heritage was lost imo.

I’m not sure I even want another debate as Trump is a very bad debater. Honestly think most any conservative on this board could have debated for Trump against her and mopped the floor with her but not him. He just doesn’t have it in him to stay on course and gets easily baited and never answers anything as he just (as you stated) keeps repeating his same shit over and over. There is no doubt we need him back in office but I don’t have confidence in him on the debate stage.
I was thinking the same thing during the debate like when she threw out the border wall bill I said to tell her WHY it was a bad bill! He did not even tell everybody watching about that! Just starting rambling on other stuff. He needs numbers for everything he knows is going to be brought up. Like why did he not mention the inflation number compared to his! I was thinking the whole time that someone like Haley or Gabbard would have all that information and burn Harris alive with it. I could have done it with all the numbers and info. Plus, the way I am, I would be making plenty of faces at the B.

I think it often takes getting to a second generation in the US to really assimilate. In Miami-Dade County, Spanish is the first language of more than 50% of the population and you can go into many places of business (drug stores, even places like Quest Diagnostics) and have a hard time finding someone who speaks English. But the kids of the immigrants do assimilate. I think this has been true historically when there was anti-immigrant feelings toward Italians, Germans, Eastern Europeans, etc. in the early 20th century. BTW, I think this same logic applies to Muslims.
Totally disagree for Muslims. Sharia Law is where it remains at with them. I mean, name Muslim-majority countries where non-Muslims are treated equally.

Firstly it should be pointed out how dems weaponized all the immigration rules and procedure and the way law is applied to facts. There is nothing in haiti that warrants us importing basically the entire island. It sucks there? Sad but far from enough.

The legal and practical definition of an actual refugee should be so slim that barely anyone meets it. If things in these countries are truly that bad, its cheaper and more practical for us to overthrow that government rather than import an entire population. I advocate we do neither, but if we must do one - overthrowing their government is the best path.

Maybe so, but I have met Muslim people working professionally (lawyers, doctors) and they have assimilated. My dry cleaners are Muslim and they are nice people. There are exceptions to everything.

There are a significant number of Americans who believe that slavery started with the United States.

The funny thing? The Hall Monitor actually praised the discussion yesterday. 😱

Yeah, I came here expecting the debate thread had been merged.

I’d be real pissed if I was the poster who posted like a ten page political thesis, therein, yesterday.

Strange editing/monitoring decision. It was hardly as bitter as this Political thread, and had some serious thought and humor going for it.

It's in rural Southern Indiana and rural Southern Illinois in places.

I talked to a man in Southern Illinois who said that he grew up speaking German only. He got drafted in 1944 and the military tried to get him to learn English and he refused. They put him on a boat and he landed in England. He said within a week he was walking around speaking perfect English.
