No offense, but he'd have learned English regardless. I prefer immigrants keep/teach their kids their former homeland's language. I think an extra language or two helps you in the long run. My German ancestors came here in the 1840's and many descendants kept using the language to WWI came along. Dang shame that heritage was lost imo.

My grandfather was about 12 when he arrived. His father was adamant that they were now Americans and would speak like Americans. I have not known a more patriot person than my grandfather.

Agree that he is not a very good debater (nor is she). While he could have had more specific details to spout, imo, that doesn't sway low income voters who may have been watching. What I think he should have said was something like this: "Why is a border bill even necessary? Your administration and your DHS Secretary have repeatedly stated that the border is secure. Then, why do we need a bill to secure the border? If the border is NOT secure and your administration has been lying about it, how did it become unsecure? Could it have been that very early in this administration Executive Orders were issued to open the border? The immigration laws have not been changed under your administration. But, without Congressional approval, your administration issued EOs to go around immigration laws and open the borders. For a party that talks about preserving democracy, how, exactly, does an Executive Order to open the borders in defiance of duly passed laws by Congress qualify? And, as far as preserving democracy, how many votes did you receive in the primaries?' And then don't say another word.

If I were coaching Trump to debate, I would tell him to pretend he's on the witness stand. Do not offer additional information, do not change subjects, do not ramble. Answer the question, be very succinct in pointing out how Biden/Harris have done something and how you did it and then shut up. The more you get Kamala to talk and try to fill in the gaps, the more likely she is to reveal her stupidity. Have cold, hard facts at your disposal and hit her with her own record on crime, gun control, border, immigration, economy, etc. There is a wealth of issues that the administration has failed miserably on - very simply point that out over and over again.
