I know man, I'm not worried for myself nor particularly worried about this virus and know that other people are running about like nothing has happened, but if you do that then you are part of the propagation of the virus by chance.
all I did and will do is things like stop going to the gym, things which I don't necessarily need to do but greatly increase my own personal chances if becoming part of the problem.
also, maybe I shouldn't have said 100% agreement with AOC... it's possible, maybe even probable, that she wants a recession and people not going to F&B in NYC, which is the best damn food and bar scene in the world, just does that much more to accelerate economic decline.

Show me which foods in USA come from China, what % of the total that it is, and that their supply has been disrupted. W/o that info, I'll continue to believe it's small to very small.

We received an email yesterday that we will only be paid accrued PTO and vacation time if there is a total shutdown. This is a small business that has no debt and good capital reserves.

Food & essential household items production is not going to stop/slow due to this. It's counterproductive to the needs of the people. And I don't think you realize how labor efficient; i.e., how few workers, these products' production chains are. I've worked in both household products & beverages plants as part of my R&D jobs & have seen it in action first hand.
Just who does a truck driver who pulls up to a production dock & takes on a load & then delivers it to a warehouse come in contact with? Two at most & maybe none.

False, while I agree with the general idea here I disagree with people not panicking because it is a deadly disease. Most are panicking for that exact reason because of the media screaming "Orange man allowed this to happen and it is very deadly". Noticed the same yesterday at two HEB stores here in Austin. Well-stocked produce section, but shortages of junk food, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
Average American can't understand why they are overweight and run a high risk of contracting diabetes.

The reaction is the problem. Decisions should be made with a cool calm head. The left and the media have tried to panic society as much as possible. The president has tried to remain very calm. This is criticized by the leftist. The people who support Joe Biden for president.

Will be curious to monitor flu deaths now. The media reporting these covid deaths are just speculation unless there was a positive test.

Understand your point but, how many of you here actually keep enough food (long shelf life items) and water to support you and your family for a couple of months or so in case of an emergency. I have enough of food and water to last a few months. Started that about 8 years back or so when a heavy freeze with snow and ice kept me basically home bound for a little over two weeks with no water and very little food and no electricity. Was in my old house where pipes would freeze easily. Had a Coleman stove with about 4 propane bottles and a large grill in the back with two big bottles of propane. Used that to melt snow and ice for water. Luckily, we had a fire place with plenty of wood to keep us warm. Learned my lesson. Keep plenty of food and water for future and have since bought 2 generators with propane and gasoline engines and plenty of fuel.
