Is it just me or does it seem like these mass shootings are happening in pairs/clusters?
I mean, the first thing I thought after Gilroy was, I'll almost bet the ranch there will be another one within a couple of weeks to a month.

It’s scary. We have a ton of anti-social whackos on the internet with nothing to live for, who just want to see the world burn.
The way guns are politicized now just adds more fuel to the fire.
Severe restrictions we see in some states will be federal sooner than later. Then what? It’s scary from a political standpoint, once government has they sort of control. See Europe.

As for the solutions to the problem of these type of mass shootings.
I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but I'll wager that well over 90% of the shooters over the last 30 years had mental health issues.
I'll also comfortably and confidently wager that somebody if not multiple people at some point during the perps developmental years (grade school through early adult years) somebody like a teacher, classmate, neighbor etc said "this kid is a bad apple"
A little anecdote for what it's worth. My mom is a teacher, and she's got a damn near perfect record on calling who will turn out well and who won't. The kids that really bothered/concerned her over the years, well a lot of them turned out to be turds and trouble makers.
I think about that every time something like this happens...somewhere there's at least a teacher and/or counselor, cop, if not many people in a community thinking "Yeah he was the one we worried about...but we couldn't do anything preemptively without cause...had nowhere to send him...etc..."

Generally agree, but elements of politics do cause chaos. It's tough to have a positive view of the world if you think actual Hitler is the president nominating judges who are rapists or on the other side they want to steal your guns and money while giving tax money to the world's poor. Add in bullies, adhd, long commutes to boring jobs, vets returning from pointless wars, over crowded cities, general ****ery all around, and some shit is going to go down. It would be nice if we didn't stir the pot at every opportunity.

Good post. The hateful rhetoric (both sides no doubt do it but its mostly the left) is a big reason why this type of violence is happening. Anyone with an IQ above room temperature knew it was going to lead to people being killed.
