These are comments on that fat baby tweet from above andI know who cares about Twitter comments. But I only bring this up because living in essentially the heart of the super progressive movement, I see and hear this talk a lot.
I see this a lot with people I live around and people around my age (Im 28). Instead of taking the basic responsibility of saying Im going to control what foods I eat. These people's automatic thought process is, government please make it easier for me to make basic life decisions. I don't have the will power to choose the proper food I should eat, can you place artificially hike the prices on bad foods so I won't buy them.
This thought process seriously pisses me off. Im not even making this a left or right thing, I mainly see this with the idiots of my generation. The second theyre old enough to be adults, they turn to the government to be their parents. Jesus Fing Christ people. You don't need the government artificially hiking prices of fatty food. Its pretty god damn simple, do I care about my weight? If so do I think Ive burned off enough calories today where I can cheat and eat a BigMac where it won't have a major effect on my weight. Not oh no McDonalds has a dollar menu, I guess I have to order 10 things off of it. If only the government could tell McDonalds to raise their prices!!!

I went to the source and methodology because I was truly interested in those rankings and where they came from. I provided the link so others could look at the DATA which was very enlightening, I truly enjoyed reading up. I believe that is curiosity, not ignorance.
America isn't number 1 in everything. There are other countries who do things a bit differently and have had success. So what?
I would say great for those countries.
I've never been a big fan of the idea that every country in the world has to be capitalistic democracy like America, I also don't care for the notion that just because some socialism is working in some countries it means America should follow suit.
Contrary to popular belief in some circles, America works and it works really well. It is not perfect, but I dare say a lot of those countries listed above us on the list have problems of their own as well, in fact, I'm pretty sure I can find posts from myself and others laying out those problems.
Just as easily as you can look up a Forbes list, I can find literature on the problems those countries have and how some of their socialistic tendencies are not looking so hot long term.
