I agree the religious freedom stuff is legal garbage. But whats wrong with the bathroom bills?
The bigger question is, why is there a need for the bills?
Who's job is it to check someone's plumbing before entering said bathrooms?
Does some pervert cop now hang out and police the local restroom? Sorry mam, you can't enter unless you can prove that you're a female...

Pfizer was gonna buy out Allgeran and walked away from the deal because they couldn't lower their taxes in Ireland.

Pfizer was going to merge into Allergan. Foreign shareholders would have needed to take a 40% stake in Pfizer for Pfizer to get the full benefits of redomiciling. After the merger, Pfizer would have paid US income tax on all income it earned in the US. Income earned outside of the US would not have been subject to US taxation (which is important given the high US tax rates).

The Treasury department (read Obama administration) decided they wanted to stop the inversion, since it's politically unpopular. So they took a look at Allergan who had acquired vaious US companies over the past few years, and decided to write Regulations that now basically say, if a party to the inversion did what Allergan did, you now can't reap the benefits of an inversion.

There you go, merger stopped. The dollars are too big for the companies to go through with the merger in hopes they can challenge the regulations and win. And the tax savings are a huge piece of why the merger made sense.

Game. Set. Match. Once again, the Executive branch targets certain politically unpopular people with government resources and FTS & Co. cheer them on.

Once he finds out he will shoot first if he is related to Pitino.

Im just sick of people and their fn feelings. Can we make having feelings illegal?

Congratulations and yes. Dystopian required reading: 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and most definitely for the purpose, Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World"

Yeah, apparently Pfizer got Obama'd from what I read. That's a shame.

Duh. It's the current rules against men going in women's restrooms that prevent pedophiles from going in. Tommy Boy was right: "The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer? 'Building model airplanes' says the little fairy; well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser, and your daughter's knocked up. I seen it a hundred times."

Are we sure it's even gonna be Hillary? She's having trouble winning primaries lately.......
From what little I've read, the Dem rules make it much easier for "the establishment" to have its way. Don't think Bernie is any real threat to HC from a delegates perspective. He is keeping some heat on her and may get some concessions out of her, but as between the two of them, she's got the nomination in the bag. There's still a chance the server in the closet thing could blow up in her face, but for that issue to really impact the race - meaning in a way that might cost her the nomination - she'd have to be indicted. And like most others have said, I'll believe this administration will indict her when pigs zoom from my rear....she's damaged goods, and will prove to be a very weak candidate. If you knew that ahead of time, you'd say, well, the Rs are really gonna have to work at it to screw this one up. And they have!

She will not be indicted, Lynch will not let that happen. Lynch would then shortly be out of a job when a republican wins the White House.

I don't think she's just indicated either, but wonder if a republican gets in, does she then?

I know we keep seeing the car crash that is the republican presidential candidates, but just have this feeling that the pendulum has swung on the side of the right. From mid term elections to local and state elections, republicans have been winning, or at least it appears that way.

I still don't think November is a slam dunk for democrats.

I'm a registered independent that obviously is on the left, but I would vote for Kasich and probably Romney if a brokered convention.

why would he pardon her if she loses and/or is indicted? a Rep in the White House erases his 8 years of 'accomplishments' as easy as if it were written on an old fashioned chalk board. he goes down in history as a mediocre unaccomplished easily forgotten footnote. and so on the way out the door he would do a solid & take care of Hillary?

Heh, false, learn how bitter & divisive B Hussein is, how he is all about punishing enemies & those who do him wrong.

"producers just stop(ping)" is a near impossible event. Producers still have to eat, maintain shelter and stay clothed. Producers will have assets that will need protecting. Add the fact that one producer stopping creates opportunity for the next producer...so if you want to stop, go ahead. Nobody is irreplaceable.

There is a large shared cost to providing profitable markets from which producers profit. Somebody had to pay to build the roads and provide the infrastructure upon which business is built. Pay to keep the shipping lines open and safe for commerce. Somebody has to pay to educate the people that businesses hire. There are medical costs to treat people who are poisoned by industrial by-products. There are costs to the unintended consequences of things like industrial pollution, over-prescribed opioids, and antibiotics and other drugs, etc.

We can all debate just how those costs should be divvied up...but they are all real.

Interesting that you use free market principles in an attempt to justify socialism. Youre one of a small number of people hypocritical enough to attempt such a move. Well done.

Working and free markets are only viable because of the self reward in terms of money. One works to better themselves via money. As taxation continues to increase, the self reward of money will continue to decrease. Therefore the reward no longer exists, and the individual no longer has motivation to produce.

Need money? No worries. The dems are more than ready to let you sign up on multiple benefits in an attempt to shift more and more power from the individual to the state; and locking up a generational voter all at the same time. So money wont be an issue.

So eventually, the producer will be faced with a scenario where they can work or not work; and the financial results are the same. We're nearing that point now.

The bigger question is, why is there a need for the bills?

Not surprisingly, many people dont want to share bathrooms with the opposite sex. Theres never been police at the doors, because there hasnt been a need. Its been self policed.

Of course in a perfect world, there would be no problem allowing transgender people in bathrooms. But this is anything but. Any pervert can throw on a wig, and enter a womans dressing room, claiming to be transgendered. Whos to decide if hes truly transgendered enough to not be prosecuted? If you tell him no, whats the standard for who is told yes?

Unwittingly, your police example actually proved my point. Theres no way to decide whos transgendered enough, unless its examined on a case by case basis. This would take ridiculous amounts of time and resources and provides no way of uniformity. The same person can be granted access in one place, and denied in the next. The only way to ensure consistent enforcement is to require the individual to go with their current sex organs.

I don't think she's just indicated either, but wonder if a republican gets in, does she then?

One can surely hope. Shes escaped justice for far too long.

Can't Obama just issue a blanket pardon if a R wins?

That seems like the most underhanded and corrupt way of handling things, and therefore the most likely.

And would be the most Clinton thing of all time.

You really think that Harvard Law educated lawyers with "US Attorney General" on their resume would have difficulty finding work? ...and would most very likely double their government salary.

To paraphrase you...your comments prove my point. ...and having been in more than one men's room when a woman entered, I don't recall anyone minding.
Transgendered people have been using the bathrooms of their choice for pretty much forever. I've yet to hear of a report of this ever being a problem. Do you know of any problems? Doubt it, mostly because you probably weren't aware of it happening. You go to the bathroom, do your business and leave. You aren't there trying to evaluate "Is that a woman or a man?" (<-- credit to Bob Seger)
Question...what is the difference of a "pervert" homosexual being in the bathroom of their sex and someone who is straight being in the opposite gender's bathroom? Which is more likely?
There are most certainly ways to determine if someone is transgender. Straight perverts don't have breast augmentations, undergo Estrogen/ Testosterone treatments to change their hormonal balance...

if by "work" you mean being the top lawyer in the nation in possibly the most powerful unelected position in all the federal government....yeah, she would have difficulty if Hillary ain't in the Oval Office.

Hence why she will never follow through with an FBI recommendation of indictment which would limit her employment opportunities to the icky private sector, or teaching numbskulls at law school.

She will not be indicted, Lynch will not let that happen. Lynch would then shortly be out of a job when a republican wins the White House.
No, she will get one of the SCOTUS nominations from Clinton. Corruption at it finest.

Ahhh, I think she can check that (being the top lawyer in the nation) item off of her bucket list. She has been there, done that so if the GOP wins that doesn't change that dynamic. As I mentioned, once out of the AG office she will be able to lick her wounds with double, triple the salary that she now earns. Not a bad consolation prize. Just as she worked in the US Attorney's office during the Clinton administration, when Bush was elected she joined as a partner Hogan & Hartson, now Hogan Lovell's which is a multi-billion $$ law firm. <-- private sector
I don't think anyone will be shedding any tears for Ms. Lynch...she will do just fine.

Is Fuzz really saying maintaining her position as AG, and possibly turning that into a SCOTUS nomination will have no bearing on Lynch's decision to prosecute Clinton for the many blatant felonies she's committed? Because working for a law firm in the private sector really carries the same appeal as holding one of the highest appointed offices in the nation, directing policy in the nation the way you see fit, and possibly getting a lifetime appointment to shape the judicial path of the country?

It isnt a problem with me personally. I could care less. But its a clear safety issue to have men in the womens restrooms. If you intentionally walked into a womans restroom or dressing room, youd be kicked out and probably prosecuted. Rightfully so.

No straight perverts dont have that work done. Noone would claim anyone with that much work wasnt actually transgendered. But the problem comes in when some man just wears a wig and goes into a womans dressing room to watch, claiming hes transgendered. Is he? If hes not, who makes that call? There cant be a sliding scale of what transgender means. Otherwise, every person removed from a bathroom has a cause of action.

So, thats just not a viable solution. Then which is the better alternative solution? Allow everyone to just use whatever restroom/dressing room they want? Or to restrict it based on anatomy? Clearly the latter.

Again, when was the last time you are aware of anyone doing what you are suggesting?
Why is it a safety issue now and why has it not been for the last XXX years?
This is all simply vindictive attempts to find other ways to persecute a very, very small minority of people.
The simple fact that most every state AG has advised against these legislatures taking these actions, informing them that their actions will fail any challenges just goes to further prove this to be the case.

Noones being persecuted. Men the womens restroom has always been a safety concern. Dont believe me? Next time you go to the gym, hang out in the womens dressing room and report back what happens.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/transgender-high-school-locker-room_us_56387949e4b00a4d2e0bb825

There are other articles, but the breakdown is where transgender persons want to use the same locker rooms. If you had a highschool girl at age 15, would you want a biological male coming in, undressing, and showing off his penis to your daughter in the name of fairness?

There are more and more of these cases popping up, so not isolated. Also, a gender neutral bathroom/lockerroom has proved to be an exclusion.

I thought it was as clear cut as you make it seem, but its not. I am still struggling with the answer.

Cruz is as bad as Trump and maybe worse

That's the heading of a column in USAToday I just noticed. The guns are loaded in a way they've never been, should either Trump or Cruz get the nomination, which at this point seems inevitable. What did George Will say, this was the most talented field of Republican candidates in a century or some such, and we're ending with the two that can't win. Amazing....

Mojo, that is horse shit. It's actually the opposite. This is the worst field I have seen yet. It's so bad, that this thing is going to be gift wrapped for Hillary. That effing burns me up. 4 years to get this right. Just baffled

Had 4 years to get a decent candidate and they flunked. major epic fail.

Why don't you answer the question? A simple yes or no would be sufficient.

As The Talking Heads would say, "Stop Making Sense".

understand your frustration Willy, but how would/could the GOP "get" a good candidate to run, & then win the nomination? this ain't a draft, has always been volunteers stepping up to take their shot. both sides hope that there is at least 1 decent winnable choice, but how do you guarantee that happens? can't put a gun to someone's head, either they want it or they don't.

FWIW if you believe some of the scuttlebutt, drafting Ryan at the convention is many power broker's last best hope for 2016

I know i don't have the answer.. More out of frustration than anything.

Just wish a good conservative politician that would focus more on the fiscal side of things and realize that anytime a social issue comes up that libs love to play "gotcha" politics. Libs are salivating at the mouth to get conservatives to focus on the social aspects of politics, when fiscal responsibility is prolly our biggest issue we need to to work on.

Not a real intelligent response given powerful positions mean more to some than does money.
