I worked at a bowling alley for a few years during my time in school. There was a guy named Andy Varipapa who was a pro and did exhibitions. He came to the place I worked and put on an exhibition. He did that shot and used a ball in each hand at the same time on two different lanes and struck on both. Plenty of other trick shots.

Well, no offense, but no one made you a final godlike figure to decide what you think 95% of people agree or disagree with.

And yes, I would say we should repeal the 19th amendment in front of my mother or sister and they would both just laugh at me.

As a paying member, I say this respectfully.

There are many laws in the United States regarding Sexism.

We have a sticky thread on racism perhaps we should add sexism to that thread so it's clear.

Perhaps we shouldn't.

Speaking of laws and such in the USA, how do you feel about the title IX violations that occurred that are being reined in, finally?

Since you seem so concerned about sexism?

You gonna ban me?

No sir. Like i've said I don't care about your opinion as long as it's done respectfully.

For the record he isn't banned he'll be back in a week.

Yes I'm a mod. Every one is entitled to their opinion and respectfully believe it or not there are ways you can articulate your opinion without offending 95% of the world.

I view it pretty easily. Would you say what you say on a forum in the exact way you'd talk to your mother. I don't really care if your a sexist or a racist but you keep those thoughts in your head on a public forum, it doesn't belong in the open.

Remember kids do browse these forums. Your opinions right or wrong rub off on the youth.

Lastly us mods have moderated this thread very loosely but please don't take advantage of us. Our moderation isn't a reflection of our political beliefs either it's about respect.
Based on what you just said, every single lefty on this board has said things to us they would never say in person. Why are any of them still here?

And who defines what "sexism" is on this board, and how is it defined? This is important for the rest of us to know where the line is.

Unless the mods have shifted into Reddit mode and want to chill free speech here.

I agree here. Guy seemed to state an opinion in a way that didn’t seem too offensive. People may completely disagree with what he said, but I don’t remember it being offensive. If stating an incorrect opinion in a non-offensive manner, is now a ban-able offense, we should all know.

Also, and I mean this sincerely, if we are posting something as sarcasm or a joke, do we need to explicitly state that so we don’t get banned for having an “offensive” (incorrect) opinion?

true. my 9 year old grandson reads these types of forums on the regular, between playing switch games, watching spongebob while still trying to overcome his depression brought on last november by his two older brothers after telling him that santa wasn’t real. felt sorry for him. he really loved that stupid elf on the shelf.

Dude, as long as the suspension is explained, I feel it's ok.

It's a moderated board. But I still don't like someone sitting as judge jury executioner. 🙄

Another member reported the post as sexist and I ultimately agreed. Women are of no less value than men in this world. Whether you agree or disagree that is your opinion. However last time I checked the laws we were just about equal.

Listen I've already spoke more than any other mod would have in this thread. Frankly I regret it already but I'm not here to be a dictator I've made it clear I really don't care what you post. As long as it's done in a respectful way the world is your oyster.

This is exactly what I thought.

So the "offensiveness" of the post is LITERALLY the difference of opinion between the complainant and the poster.

So rather than allow us to debate these opinions, we are now placed in timeout (BANNED) for stating them.

This is EXACTLY what happened to Reddit.

And I GUARANTEE the person who complained did so out of frustration because he likely is blocked by everyone else on this thread. It's the only way he could get satisfaction.

This is ridiculous.

JoeRule is right. Us "far right" extremist are the problem. It's not these normal and middle of the road democrats that want a $50 minimum wage. That's just good old-fashioned neighborliness.
OMG, lefties are so freaking ignorant. I'm glad they are not hiding their ignorance of math and economics ... and science, and sociology, and pretty much anything...

What was the start date of this board? I can't even remember. I can't go by my "joined" date, because I was ChesterMarcol for years before I became HymanKaplan (same avatar) Chester got a LIFETIME rivals ban (from a Louisville moderator, for being "willfully disruptive and disrespectful" in 2001, but that board name goes back to the previous two boards before the migration to this one.

It was 2010.

I think your forgetting that yes you have freedom of speech but you don't have freedom to be disrespectful to someones character, beliefs, or background.

Oh, no you don't.

You're not suckering me into a ban.

I'm keeping my mouth shut.

Anyone with a difference of opinion gets automatically ignored. I'm not risking any more bans.

From now on I'm only going to lurk.

2010 can't be right because my current registered date if 2001, but the Paddock has to have been around since at least 1999 or 2000

the original one was the Cats Pause IIRC, then it moved to Cats Illustrated, and then became a part of the rivals network at some point, but the paddock (I think) was the general discussion board on all three. So, I guessing it goes back to late 1998/early 1999

I enjoy a good banter. Just don't be crazy and you have nothing to worry about.

[no offense intended]

You aren't defining "don't be crazy" and you aren't telling us what exactly was the offending comment.

How are we supposed to learn anything from this ongoing saga with hidden judgment calls? I've been banned for comments before and NEVER was told what the offending comment was. It would make sense if we all would be able to learn and grow from these experiences.

So far it seems like helping us avoid bans is not the intent.

Just saying "don't be sexist" is absolutely useless. "Sexism" is such an overused term these days, especially by the left (who very likely it was that complained) that it's impossible to qualify. Saying women shouldn't be able to vote is a political opinion. Is that sexist? Or is it sexist to say women are too emotional to be trusted to vote? Or does the line get crossed to say women are inferior to men? Because I don't recall anyone saying that.

The post on page 19023 still has the offending post that was quoted and it was a post that you yourself liked.

I personally think it's quite obvious but your welcome to argue the point and I'll take it in consideration. Another poster who keeps laughing at my posts brings up Amendment 19 which is a law by the way. Seems like it would be the opposite opinion of your friend.

I think you know what don't be crazy means as you've been respectful to me in the replies.

With all due respect, if it is the post I think it is, then you may be overreacting a lot. People can have an opinion on who should be able to vote and who shouldn't. Their opinion doesn't matter because we have the Constitution and the Law. We joke about stuff like that all the time. The poster in question may not be joking, but he is entitled to his opinion and be countered as part of the discussion. IMO, he was making a larger point that the many people ignorantly say one thing and then vote for literally the exact opposite, and often are extremely destructive to traditional American values. Maybe those people shouldn't be granted the responsibility of voting? I'm not stating an opinion either way, just showing arguments can be made, and it literally doesn't matter ... it doesn't change the Law and the Constitution.

If that isn't the post, then my apologies.

EDIT: regardless, I don't think mods should be positing in threads where they ban others for posting opinions. I'm not trying to be a d*** ... just stating my opinion. My 2 cents.

I'm curious. Are you saying that his claim that women are 100% emotional and easily influenced is the sexist part?

Because even though he's being hyperbolic, there's certainly a kernel of truth there. Women are emotion-based. That's science. And his comment goes more to the aspect that political organizations TARGET women because they know they can use emotion-based arguments to win over their votes. 54% of women voted for Kamala in the election, despite Kamala being arguably the stupidest, most unqualified, and CONFIRMED LEAST POPULAR candidate in the Democrat primary.

IMHO he's just using absurdity levels of hyperbole to express his frustration. And he does document reasons behind his claims. Also, it's clear to me that you haven't been following the discussions in the last few years, because he's clearly referencing a TREND with women lately, that they've become more and more easily influenced by these marketing and propaganda entities.

And again, this is the type of comment that can be debated on the forum by all parties. We actually police ourselves pretty well. But I suspect the person who complained is someone who is ignored by most or all of us on the right and sought relief by complaining because he/she knew nobody was paying attention to them. That is PETTY and should NOT be rewarded.

I agree with your edit. That is a potential conflict of interest. I've seen mods ban people for disagreeing with them before.

Thx. I'm literally not trying to be an a$$ for once. It is my opinion. I think they can comment or explain/clarify something. But they should've be engaging in what can potentially be perceived as taunting.
