Not sure if I'm saying this right. Pre-tax drops the income level to a lower bracket (maybe) but you are still paying some sort of tax. As for me, if they stop taxing SS, then all I have to do is claim my pension as income which maybe goes to a lower income bracket meaning less taxes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
