Never said that. We need new laws that address ASYLUM which is still making it possible to get into the US even with Trump. It is still technically legal to cross and claim ASYLUM then be released into the country until the law is changed.
Immigrants are using that to challenge the deportations and getting court cases as I type this.

I wonder if they consider investigating Biden stealing classified docs he didnt have the clearance to possess and keeping them in plain sight in his garage anytime between 2012 and 2019 essential work...? Maybe they consider committing perjury and falsifying information to obtain a warrant essential work? Maybe investigating a sham non-profit abused by a former senator that allowed them to receive money from foreign govts would be considered essential work? Perhaps keeping a major felon running an international child trafficking ring alive and ready for trial might be essential work? Would allowing an admitted felon, who admittedly destroyed thousands of pieces of evidence (each piece/count would have been 5-10 years) they were ordered to turn over, to not be prosecuted be essential work?

Sorry. Just trying to figure out why these things weren't considered important, but somehow someone walking through a public place taking selfies is somehow a major priority. Did they stop a school shooting or let a half dozen or so happen after having the shooters on their radar for a WHILE? Did they ever pursue the people who started and incited riots all over the country?

There has to be some good people in the organization. I used to know some. I don't see how anyone needs protecting if they are doing or trying to do their jobs. The ones who are weaponizing the dept are the ones that least need protection. Let's find out who they are and what they did do or didn't do because of politics or money. Then let's talk about protecting the good ones.

It's income taxes and self-employment tax that are bullsht. They have enough revenue from all of the other taxes and fees to pay for roads and fix bridges. They don't properly invest the self-employment and soc sec income for it to grow, so they shouldn't be collecting it towards some fictitious fund. They need to honor the debt to those who've paid into it, but they need to stop collecting the revenue asap.

People should absolutely be able to deduct donations to orgs that help people from their taxable income. It's fkd up not to allow that. They don't possess the money to make it grow or put it to work.

In fact, I'll take it a step further. If you're paying for your kid to go to school, you shouldn't be taxed on the tuition and fees, especially if there isn't a voucher system for them to go to their school of choice. The employees at the schools pay taxes on THEIR income, so it's not like the govt is missing out, but the parents are certainly not getting to use the money for their business ventures and enrichment.

Now, if you have some reason to investigate a school for misuse of funds or fraud, and they are found guilty of it, you prosecute the people at the school committing the fraud. Then you consider shuttering the school, if it is no longer able to function and deliver the education expected of it. This is where the US DoEd sits right now, imo.
