@ twenty some odd years ago I was interviewing for an Armed S/O.

Obviously SCOTUS allowing sentencing to proceed was the incorrect decision under all precedent and logic. Just Roberts and Coney Barret doing what they do best.
However, if a POTUS can be tried and sentenced, for alleged crimes in which he’s claiming he’s immune from prosecution, one would think, given the unprecedented nature of the Biden admin’s preemptive pardon for Hunter, and those yet to come, Hunter will need to be tried and sentenced (as well as Fauci et al) before any of them can claim any immunity based on preemptive pardons.
That said, if I was Trump I wouldn’t show up on the hearing this morning.

I didn't read it, but it sounds insane. Immunity means immune from even suit or prosecution, not just immune from punishment. As you said, sounds like another appeasement ruling by those clowns.

I don't believe there is precedent for this type of situation. Also, Roberts is the justice who wrote the immunity decision that gave Trump the immunity argument in the first place (and Barrett concurred) so the social media outrage and calls for their "removal" is dumb.
