Look at it this way: if you can’t get an acquittal of a cop in a murder trial where he apparently performed a procedure that his own department taught and trained him on, and the decedent is a career criminal, consistent drug user, had medical issues and a drug cocktail in his system which together were either the primary or significant contributing cause of his death, and not to mention clearly failed to comply with reasonable police instructions over an extended period of time, well……….
Boy, on the list of things I care about.. cops making split-second decisions to keep society in order every day, and every so often making a mistake that may or may not take the life of an already suspect individual.. just isnt high on my list.

Always been a ND fan, had lots of family go there. But I've always really been impressed that they might be the one power program that actually has standards for its athletes and sticks to them. It's ivy league schools, military schools, and Notre Dame.. that's it. Every other school would take a convict if it meant scoring touchdowns. Notre Dame is, what Duke pretends to be and what the media pretends they are.

@ twenty some odd years ago I was interviewing for an Armed S/O.

Obviously SCOTUS allowing sentencing to proceed was the incorrect decision under all precedent and logic. Just Roberts and Coney Barret doing what they do best.
However, if a POTUS can be tried and sentenced, for alleged crimes in which he’s claiming he’s immune from prosecution, one would think, given the unprecedented nature of the Biden admin’s preemptive pardon for Hunter, and those yet to come, Hunter will need to be tried and sentenced (as well as Fauci et al) before any of them can claim any immunity based on preemptive pardons.
That said, if I was Trump I wouldn’t show up on the hearing this morning.

The mob made sure those officers were going to jail. Nothing was stopping that. Not even cause of death being an overdose and the fact he was clearly talking being an absolute indicator he could breathe fine.

I don't believe there is precedent for this type of situation. Also, Roberts is the justice who wrote the immunity decision that gave Trump the immunity argument in the first place (and Barrett concurred) so the social media outrage and calls for their "removal" is dumb.
