Shootings at Public Schools and now shootings at Private Christian Schools. Can we all agree lazy parenting and unrestricted access to the internet/social media is a huge issue? How many of these kids grow up in a traditional loving/involved family who consistently disciplines them and is actively involved in their lives.
It’s easier to medicate than parent. It’s easier to dictate than talk and listen. It’s a lot easier to hand out phones, tablets, video games, and the like than spend actual time with them. And it’s sure a lot easier to make excuses, rather than discipline. Society has to quit taking the easy way out but I’m not sure they will.

1) You voted for the guy that just pardoned his son for federal gun crimes that he blatantly committed.
2) You also applauded Luigi Mangione for using a gun to kill the healthcare CEO. The left has been discursively championing Luigi as some sort of a martyr.
Not a single word about “common sense gun control laws” from the left in this thread in either case.

I'll address these at once. I think Twitter and its community notes is a great start. I have many problems with social media as a whole and do think it contributes to our hateful natures. Back in 2012, Facebook was making 126 dollars annually from each of its accounts. You wanna make that sort of cash, you better have some guardrails in place of face liability fines, especially when shootings like yesterday occur.
Australia very recently banned all minors under 16 from having social media accounts. That sure would help us stateside to do something similarly.
