So, quick story...my principal (public middle school where I teach) is a closet conserv and goes to a Baptist church...today he announced at dismissal on the intercom that they had done a Civics exercise in 8th grade today, having the kids vote in a blind poll, where the only thing the kids knew were the platforms. The winner with 45% of the vote was Donald Trump. I laughed so hard my sides ached and my students (I teach at a 97% minority school) groaned. Best day ever.
I kept this quiet but I saw a pollster go into the fact that Trump was further ahead than the polls indicated. His reasoning was partially Republicans not responding but also the media wanting to create this close race that wasn't that close.
I thought well, we'll see if you're correct or not but I kind of believed him.

I wouldn't be talking smack if crappy Kamala had won either. I care about issues. Material reality. Trump more aligns with my populism than Kamala does on certain issues. Not most, but some. We should all be voting on ways we think will make America better, not 'victory' or "defeat". Red team vs. Blue team is just another way they seek to divide us while they pick our pockets. There will be plenty of wealth transfers to the rich under Trump, just as there were under Biden, and Trump the first time, and every other president of my lifetime. We've already had four years of Trump. Did anything change? Everyone around here says the last four under Biden were abysmal. So guess he didn't really fix much, did he? In four years we'll get a new choice. And that'll just be more years of limping along under the failing status quo until we get a real change agent who sees America in a different way.

so listen guys. I was watching SkyNews earlier this evening with my wife. They were at a Trump gathering in PA, and they talked to this woman and asked her if she cared about abortion. She went the f OFF. She said, look, women, Kamala can't change Dobbs anyway, and if you're concerned about it, CLOSE YOUR LEGS! Yes she said that on TV, hilarious. She kept going on and on, very intelligent and informed, and they eventually had to cut her off and just move on. I told my wife, I'm in love with that chick's mind
