You said earlier that Pubs always want to restrict voting. You made the point that Motor Voter was a good bill the Pubs opposed. It would be registering illegals to vote now if it had passed back then. Democrats have found new ways to register illegals to vote. It's just weird you never seem upset about that but you find mole hills to complain about with Pubs.
Lots of states have voter ID laws. The nature of the identification is the issue.
Republicans do want to make it harder to vote and Democrats want to make it easier. Everyone is self interested in politics. I think the Dem opposition to requiring IDs in some states is ridiculous and unjustifiable.
Requiring proof of citizenship is different and would serve to prevent all kinds of people from voting - maybe even some on this thread who don’t have a passport.

I must have missed when Trump stated zero combat deaths happened under his presidency. He has said in the last year and a half or so or his presidency there were zero combat deaths which is indeed true.
