Now if someone tried to film a movie or commercial there I'd say that would be inappropriate but all they did was point a phone at him while he participated in the memorial at the request of the parents. Where is "there"? Anywhere in ANC or specifically Section 60 as was this case? The issue for me -- beyond him just ignoring the law -- was Trump's dismissal of the combat deaths that happened during his presidency. In his mind he's only slightly less perfect than God. So, the 65 military deaths -- 46 in action -- never happened. Now you can say he was just white-washing his record, but he never accepts responsibility for anything. You said earlier that Pubs always want to restrict voting. You made the point that Motor Voter was a good bill the Pubs opposed. It would be registering illegals to vote now if it had passed back then. Democrats have found new ways to register illegals to vote. It's just weird you never seem upset about that but you find mole hills to complain about with Pubs.
Lots of states have voter ID laws. The nature of the identification is the issue.
The Heritage Foundation (conservative think tank) recently published a study on illegal aliens voting. I can't remember the number exactly, but the study stretched back to the 80s. The total number, across the entire united states, for ~40 years. Less than 1 per year.
So, yeah, illegal voting is a HUGE issue. [sarcasm alert]
Republicans do want to make it harder to vote and Democrats want to make it easier. Everyone is self interested in politics. I think the Dem opposition to requiring IDs in some states is ridiculous and unjustifiable.
Requiring proof of citizenship is different and would serve to prevent all kinds of people from voting - maybe even some on this thread who don’t have a passport.
Illegal registering to vote is a huge issue. The illegal voting isn’t actually done in person.
