The problem is that the low info voters (the vast majority of which are Democrat) wont make the connection.

That’s ridiculous. Appalachia is the way it is because of geography. There’s no work and no incentive for businesses to move to the mountains. Coal is the only industry not because mountain people are hard workers who like mining f***ing coal, it’s because that’s where the coal is. Appalachia has been poor since the 1700s. Are you f***ing kidding me with this fetishization of blue collar work. Mining blows. I know. My family has done it for generations. My dad does it. I do it. The only reason is because that’s all there is. Drugs seeped into these communities because it’s a crime of despair. Medicating hard lives. They got prescribed the oxys in the first place because they got injured in the mines and the corpos needed them to work while hurt. Big Pharma were evil with it, but it would’ve happened no matter how hard it was pushed, or wasn’t at all. Basically everything wrong with Appalachia is solely due to its economic state thanks to geographical and historical circumstances. The same is mostly true of every other group/area you mention here and everywhere else.

I, personally, do lab testing on the coal by this point. Thanks to my education and privilege. But by “lab” I mean a trailer in the stockpile yard near the prep plant. I do much of the sampling myself. And all the prep. I’m lucky as hell I don’t have to actually go down in the deep mines on the regular, just occasionally. Many of my colleagues aren’t so lucky.
If Appalachia is such an awful place to live and work as you describe, then why haven't you left there? You have an expensive Liberal Arts degree, why didn't you move to Lexington and get a job teaching or something? Why do you feel it's your calling to pulverize coal with an expensive College degree and education?

Every single person is different so there is no possible way of ensuring equal outcomes (i.e., 'equity') in education. A small percentage of kids can do calculus in HS. A larger percentage can barely do basic algebra in college. How in the holy f*ck can you achieve 'equity' with this? Some people naturally pick up foreign languages. Some have a hard time with English, their native tongue. 'Equity'? How? It's completely absurd.
