It was not unexpected when Trump endorsed Charlie Crist saying he would make a better governor than RD. Their friendship goes back a number of years. Trump did not campaign for or endorse RD in 2022 and the reason is obvious becausse this was his man. Trump's man lost by almost 20 points.
Maybe Crist could be a good VP pick for Trump to bring in the Democrat vote. Trump floats in the wind. If you praise him he is all for you.

When Crist was a Republican, Trump was a Democrat. Trump switched back and forth several times, Democrat, Independent, Democrat and he went to the GOP in 2009 when Obama was elected. Crist was elected governor in 2007.
Here is a good time line of his political career over the past 40 years or so. He was a very strong advocate of universal health care and thought the economy was better under Democrats. The article below was right after he sided with Democrats over the GOP over the increase in debt ceiling. 9/7/2017 Newsweek.

Edit P.S : Florida Democrats joined with Trump in filing Ethic Charges against Ron DeSantis. That make two Ethic Charges. Trump and Democras. Trump may not realize it is illegal in Florida to file a complaint with malicious intent and false claims. The commission can fine violators, who can also be ordered to pay a defendant’s legal fees. So Trump better win this one or he will pay. If he does win that will end Ron DeSantis so I guess it is worth a try. Kill him now before he announces.
