I’ve worked in the private sector in a role spending at least 3-4 days a week in schools in direct contact with support staff, teachers, and administrators for over 30 years. Outside of a few urban areas where more progressive views dominate, Kentucky schools are staffed by overwhelmingly conservative faculty and staff. The shortage is real and growing across ALL settings, in both the many conservative and few progressive districts. The pay is horrendous. The benefits have eroded. Difficulty with qualified and certified staffing is growing daily. The nonstop barrage of negativism from the right toward teachers and schools has been a smashing success. The conservative agenda of dismantling public schools has worked. Congratulations, you win.
