More than 7 million able bodied people between the ages of 25 & 54 choosing not to work right now and not factoring into the unemployment figures. Never in peace time has that metric existed before. 4 million more open jobs today than pre-covid and 4 million fewer people in the workforce. 11 million job openings out there that need to be filled. (This was according to Mike Roe in a video from an interview he did recently) How do we resolve this problem. 3.5% unemployment rate is a farce. The labor participation rate is the real metric.
