Granted i’m not an expert on his administration - but i do know how admin had some success in making diplomatic inroads w/Communist China — which somewhat leveraged power against the Soviet Union

Except for Watergate scandal, Nixon was a good president in my opinion. He founded the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), something desperately needed by our nation. His environmental policies included signing Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species acts. Elimination of lead in gasoline began in 1971. Although catalytic converter mandates went into effect on all newly produced 1975 model-year US vehicles, Nixon's clean air policies began affecting motor vehicle exhaust emissions in 1973.
Nixon administration played a major role in school desegregation. Enrollment of black children in desegregated schools rose from 186,000 in 1969 to 3 million in 1970.
Other notable accomplishments included:
- Ended conscription (i.e. military draft) in 1973
- 26th Amendment guaranteed 18 year-olds voting rights
- Established Minority Business Development Agency.
- Apollo 11
And much more. Again, Nixon was a good president. Problem: "He got caught".
He was the forerunner of Trump with the media. They didn't like Reagan....but they absolutely hated Nixon.
I'm not so sure that in that time frame, if any other political figure was Prez if they would have been crucified like Nixon over something like Watergate. Kennedy and LBJ...media did a lot of cover up/damage control.

Over the years, I've watched many interviews with folks ranting about Republicans hating the media. True. It all began with Nixon. Bob Woodward, who admitted to voting for Nixon in 1968, stated in an interview roughly 10 years ago Republicans blame MSM (ABC, CBS, NBC, WaPo, NYT, etc.) for Nixon's downfall and have never forgiven them. Personally speaking, I agree. After so much one-sided crap covering for Democrats over the years, who can blame us?
Watched a six-part special on History Channel last night about Watergate. Nixon, like Reagan and Trump, was somewhat of an outsider. He stayed close to home for college and supposedly resented Ivy-Leaguers, especially Kennedy. When folks research more into 1960 presidential election results, those Chicago votes coming out of nowhere certainly cast doubt into the process.
I see nothing wrong with a sitting President legitimately feeling he got jobbed royally in the election. Whatever grand plot you think he had, never materialized and he left office when he was supposed to.
Now how about Hillary and Obama and their merry band of treasonists who spent three years trying to undo Hillary’s election loss with the FAKE AND YOU KNOW IT Russian Collusion, and spying on a sitting President.
