I think he wanted them to use computer hacking tactics that he couldn't get away with because they're illegal.
I don't think he actually got much of anything....but it wasn't for lack of trying.
Btw...I was not a Hillary fan and was actually happy to see Trump elected. I thought his vitriol in the campaign was an act and he was going to be a centrist businessman. Initially, I was all for him.
It wasn't until his non stop idiotic tweets and whacked out behavior in the Oval Office that I soured on him.
The Jan 6th rally/riot was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. That's when you'll notice that I became much more active on here regarding him. I truly see Trump as a danger to our country for multiple reasons.

Whatever that process is - you'd have to show me the relevant part of the Constitution that it exists - doesn't include the VP that I've ever seen. I mean whatever process doesn't have to include the VP doing anything other than his only stated roll of counting.

I can understand not liking the tweets, but look at the country and world now, it's in a far worse place than it was when he left office. The danger isn't Trump, the danger are the ones that saw him, and in reality the people that elected him, as a threat to their grip on power.
You do know that it was a GOP led Senate investigation committee that found Russia did interfere in the election right? The only debate revolves around Trump's level of involvement. That is debatable.

Do you want to be represented, or ruled? The establishment think they rule us, Trump was a threat to that, or the people that elected him were a threat to that.

Trumps involvement is everything, it isn't an afterthought, and since it didn't happen then it's nothing.
I'm not saying Congress can't contest it. I'm saying that's not the VP's role.

The VP as the leader of the count can delay the count if there's uncertainty, he wouldn't be choosing anything. His role is to ensure the legitimacy of the process.
Hell, Nixon gave Hawaii's electoral votes that had been approved by the State for him, to Kennedy.

On Friday, January 6, 1961, the electoral votes were tallied by roll-call in a joint session of Congress with Vice-President Richard M. Nixon presiding.
The roll-call went smoothly until Hawaii was reached. There were three sets of documents for Hawaii, which finally went to Kennedy after the official recount which had not been completed when the electors met in Honolulu on December 19th.
The tellers tossed that problem into Nixon's lap, and the Vice-President held without opposition that the latest document, dated January 4 and certifying the Kennedy electors, was the one that should be counted.
That made the presidential tally 303 for Kennedy, 219 for Nixon and 15 for Senator Harry F. Byrd of Virginia.
The outgoing Vice-President presided over the joint session under a constitutional provision that requires Congress to canvass the electoral votes. The votes actually were cast on December 19 by the electors of the 50 states.
Hawaii's vote was originally certified for Nixon, who held a 141 vote margin before a recount swung the state to Kennedy by 115 votes.
The point remains that the election didn't follow the Constitution, the discrepancies uncovered since then were unknown at the time. They were unknown because the law wasn't followed, and a delay of the electoral count would've been prudent to verify that we had a legitimate President.
Biden isn't running anything, which is the problem. How many former Presidents stayed in DC after leaving office?

Jan 6th was a mostly peaceful protest. I do not agree with taking swings at the police and those who did should be dealt with in the same manner BLM/Antifa "protesters" have been handled. I also believe that those under arrest should be out on bail as quickly as the BLM/Antifa "protesters" were. I think the VPOTUS should contribute to their bail.
The Presidency is about much more than policies alone. They are the face, heart and soul of the nation. You can't enact policies that half the country likes while tweeting out "White Power" videos from the Villages in Florida. You can't put in Supreme Court Justices that half the country likes while saying the Presidential election is rigged before the election has even taken place....then hold rallies that result in our Capitol building being attacked and vandalized. Looking the other way as long as you like the policies on the books is BS.

Science and scientific theories change over time as new data and information is acquired. It is a constant learning experience and part of the scientific method. Good thing we aren't using the same science, medicine and surgical techniques we used 500 years ago.

The Trump campaign got several things from Russia. Microtargeted Russian social media bots using the campaign’s internal data they provided to the Russians. Russian endorsement and hollow promises of less bellicose behavior. Coordinated dumps of hacked emails to counter news cycles that were bad for Trump(Billy Bush tape).

Nixon didn't "give" any votes to Kennedy. Hawaii initially certified its electors and sent the results in. afterwards they did a recount and then recertified and resent the updated results. all Nixon did was open the newest certified results sent by the legislature. The state did it's job so he properly did his. He didn't try to acknowledge counterfeit electors sent by random Trump dipshits.
Nixon had to pick from among multiple returns sent from Hawaii, signed by the governor, because they were a brand new state and were slow with the count and documentation. They were legitimate EC votes that didn’t effect the outcome. The alternate EC votes Trump had sent were not signed by their governors and did not meet the “safe harbor” requirements set up in the Electoral Count Act. As such Pence had no ability to consider them or halt the count as no states were in doubt. The formal contesting process that requires a House and Senate member that Hawley, Cruz et al. were attempting requires both the House and Senate to vote to set aside the EC votes. Which obviously wasn’t happening. Nothing to do with the VP. Pence could not have done what you’re proposing.

So what you're telling us is that Nixon counted the HI votes, delayed nothing, & no one objected. OK.
Nixon chose to ignore the electoral vote authorized by the State, and instead used the recount tally to give Kennedy the electoral votes.
He did exactly what you stated the VP couldn't do, and why did he do that? Because info had came to light after the State certified the electoral votes. 1500 ballots or so were "found" that had been missed in the original count which ended up erasing a Nixon 150 or so vote lead. In 2020 the States violated the Constitution, and outright cheated in several states.
