Don't know if this has already been discussed but, I saw a media report on Pete Buttigieg where they ask him about the infrastructure money going forward and basically what were the plans. His only response was "Well, the paradigm has shifted as to how we will spend the money". Hmmmm, never fails. He left the rest up to his spokesperson who said that some of the money will be spent to make sure we take care of children and their families. What children and what families? Also, there are going to be cameras set up all over the country on highways and roadways taking pictures of those breaking the law which will generate more money for the infrastructure. What? Nothing else was mentioned about what they were going to do.

Pretty much zero businesses are paying the federal minimum wage these days. If they are the won’t be in business for much longer. Wages have grown organically due to demand. Fast food places are paying almost double the federal wage these days and STILL can’t find workers. Our restaurants are paying $13-14 to start.

Right, the fed min wage is nothing more than a faux reason for outrage at this point. Nobody is paying $7.25 an hour or whatever that number is. We have gotten to the point that the organic min wage is probably $14-$15 an hour if you want to retain workers and not suffer crippling attrition and recruiting issues.
If the fed min wage was raised to $14 tomorrow, the same people would be bitching that it should be $22.

My son's great grandmother died today. I word it that way because she's the grandmother of my ex. Great lady, they raised 9 kids on a shoestring budget and they all turned out great (even the ex, it just didn't work out.) She was 94 and fell and broke her pelvis last week, which at that age is basically a death sentence. When the ambulance brought her to the hospital, she tested positive for COVID. I wonder what the cause of death will be listed as?
