Back from The Free State of Florida... Ft Myers specifically.

A few observations:

Those folks there are happy. Very friendly, always smiling... and most have an "eff the Govt" attitude... and are very open about it.

Plenty of "FJB" type bumper stickers, signs, etc.

No masks... anywhere. No social distancing at all. Even at the airport many were maskless and even more had the masks below their noses.

Saw Deb and The Dynamics at The Nauti Parrot... packed house. People danced like the old days... it REALLY felt like life pre-2019.

Hope you get to go back there more often. What were some of the other places you went? I posted earlier, my favorite wings down there are at the Beached Whale.

Marias Smokehouse and Seafood Restaurant is a amazing little tiny hole in the wall. It was the little place that looks like a run down shack with the very colorful and big lit up sign on San Carlos Blvd. just up from the Nauti Parrot.

Junkanoo has a nice beach bar but is overpriced.

Great tacos at the Yo Taco taco stand.

Hope you got to enjoy some Love Boat Ice Cream.

For Breakfast, Heavenly Biscuit is the best. great breakfast biscuit sandwiches and crazy good cinnamon rolls.

BTW....great nurse friend of mine told me this weekend that she and all her fellow nurses at Norton Suburban hospital in Louisville are f'ing tired of taking care of dumb ass Covid patients that refused to vaccinate. They hog up all the care, blood supply and time from heart attacks, cancer, and car wreck patients. And don't think for a minute she votes like me....she and her husband are hard core Republicans but they just don't believe in conspiracies, Joe Rogan BS and lies about science. My parents lived on FMB for several years and I can fully vouch for Heavenly Biscuit and Yo Taco. Bonita Bill’s just off San Carlos was another favorite. Def a hole in the wall but a fun/chill spot on the water. RIP, Splash (he was a local celebrity at Bill’s).

Question, from a friend, from day one of this virus, there have been asymptomatic carriers. I mean I can name 3 family members back then that tested positive that never had the first symptom. If so many walked around with no symptoms, then how can anyone prove that the vaccine is keeping hospitalizations and death numbers down? I mean it’s not like everyone that ever tested positive for it, ended up in the hospital and then ended up dying from it. So how do we really know the vaccine lowers those rates? Asking for a friend.

Plus they jacked up the pcr tests the first year to get more positives on Trumps watch. People that were testing positive with no symptoms was pretty common. After Biden inauguration, they dropped the cycles back down.

Fav restaurant was probably The Bubble Room on Captiva... very interesting place.

I really liked Zushi Sushi; discovered a Founders Raspberry Ale that somehow (I'm usually a porter/stout guy) hit my taste buds the right way.

Oddly, I found the 2 German restaurants (Heidi's and HJ German) to be quite good. The various seafood places Mantanzas (sp?), Izzy's, Doc Fords were all fine... but the weather for outside dining wasnt ideal.

Best mojito was at Doc Fords... although ya really gotta go to Miami to get the best mojitos lol.
