Jacob Chansley sentenced to 41 months in prison​

He earlier pleaded guilty to one felony count of obstruction in an official proceeding.

His sentence is among the longest so far given in connection to the riots.

In addition to his prison sentence, Chansley was sentenced to 36 months of supervised release and must pay $100 (£74) in restitution.

There won't be a new replacement VP w/o at least one Pub Senator voting for the person. Maybe one would be that stupid, but w/o a VP, the Senate is out of Dim control at 50-50 & no tiebreaker.

Yeah, that's correct. But it's a different ball game after 2022 mid-terms. I think Georgia is the only Senate seat Republicans could gain. Maybe Arizona but maybe Democrats add to their advantage, who knows. But that would get Biden to the two year mark which if Biden was replaced, would not count against the VP's term. So in a hypothetical scenario, let's say Dems gain more Senate seats in 2022. They can then replace Kamala with the gay mayor and then have Biden step down and it would not count against the VP.

One of the WaPo articles said they believe Biden would run again in 2024 and I can't imagine how gone his brain would be for that to happen so I do not believe that's going to happen. I expect Democrats to do something shady in the next two years regarding getting Biden's replacement lined up.

I always thought this guy was a doofus, but his prison sentence is unduly harsh IMO. I'm ok with the terms of the supervised release, and the guy deserves to be held accountable, but I would have sentenced him to time served. JMO.

Video was technically manipulated
And the manipulated version played in court. As played was not convincing of anything. State produced a still image from the video trying to say KR pointed his gun and caused provocation. It was blurred and technically modified and really a Hail Mary to any jurors pre-disposed to convict.

Last night he tweeted about federal Marshals giving him info but there aren't any federal Marshals on site unless they are flying completely below the radar. I can't even imagine an outrageous scenario where they're on site. Would be numerous other agencies potentially but not them.

Unless......the feds plan to arrest him and have a sealed indictment should he be found not guilty. That actually sounds like a very plausible scenario given the current state of the doj
