It says it's up to scotus or congress to intervene. Congress obviously won't because they wanted it to happen. Scotus didn't intervene with their last ruling so I kind of doubt they will this time either. And if they did it would take so long the that it would be past the 60 day extension.
Maybe these kinds of actions will finally get the GoP to abandon their doctrine of absolute power of the Presidency. The GoP has been fighting in court for 60 years now to make the executive branch untouchable.

You state in one post that it isn’t written in the Constitution that Pence can do that, then don’t accept that that the Constitition clearly states only state legislatures and Congress can change election laws. I didn't say I don't agree with who can change election laws. What I said was courts ruled on the matter(s) & states still sent in their EV's to be counted. It was over. Because the Constitiuion may have been violated by others doesn't give Pence the right to do same.

What difference does it make on our opinion whether Pence could or couldn't stop the procedure, you're not consistent in your statements. Pence could've stopped it, and then let the courts decide whether it was Constitutional, right? I mean thats literally your argument on how the States acted.

You argue where in the Constitution does it give the VP that power, and then take an entirely different stance on where the States actions where the Constitution explicitly states who can change election laws. At the point of the certification the SCOTUS hadn't ruled on the States lawsuits.

It's 2 separate issues, at the time of the certification the SCOTUS hadn't ruled. States were also opposing their own certification, Michigan locked out Republicans, PA had a state Constitutional issue, Texas and 20 some odd other states had filed suit.
The point being is under these unusual circumstances the vote could've been delayed, as you stated, let the courts decide whether it's constitutional.
