Umm, yes. Like it or not, people have the right to concoct almost anything they want (trebuchet, airplane, etc). However, people do not have the right to use in a way to deny anyone else their life, liberty or property. We call that "crime". Another straw man down ...
Lol you can’t legally build and arm an airplane without tons of legal paperwork and regulations. Go try.

Maybe something that doesn’t see a 50% increase in the wealth of the 25 richest Americans during a pandemic when the rest of us are struggling.
Classic modern liberal "argument"
Government creates problem (shuts down economy and lets their cronies remain fully operational, thereby eliminating competition and creating near monopolies.)
Government "fixes" problem ...

We agree that crony capitalism is bad. But the solution is less (not NO gov) gov, not more gov.

and how is that girls life changed because they lost? not at all. they still run the same speed.
My daughter plays on a coed soccer team. One time they played against an all boys team and lost. she whined after that it wasn't fair. I told her tough shift, life aint fair. then we got some culvers and she didn't care about it 5 mins later. So you maga snowflakes just get the hell over it, life aint fair you pansies. only a handful of females can make a career out of sports so maybe losing to girly men will toughen em up and push them into that tiny tiny tiny group that can make money.

Do I really have to educate you that fertilizer and diesel fuel are NOT ARMS?
They’re regulated as such for a reason. Go explain to a veteran who lost limbs in Iraq that improvised explosives aren’t a big deal. I thought you supported our troops?

Regulated? Are you this dense? Anybody can buy as much of either they can pay for. Straw man. Iraq has nothing to do with the fact I can buy all the fertilizer I want and diesel fuel. You like to deflect. When you need to self reflect. I am done with you. You are a lost cause.

My wife worked at Save-A-Lot in Lawton OK about 19 years ago and she saw many like that one bragging in the same manner. Some would even talk about buying food stamps from others for real cheap (as discussed in an earlier post) and therefore saving more of there own money they actually worked for. She had seen many drive up in SUV's she knew they should not be able to afford if they were actually on food stamps. One time it was a brand new black Cadillac Escalade.
I can confirm all of this as my Mom also worked at a Save a Lot. She told the same stories. It happened quite often that she would see someone pay in food stamps and walk right out to a nice ass SUV with them, while talking on a nice iphone. Pretty messed up.

Really? You didn’t know the government tracks and limits those sales? It’s even under Homeland Security these days. You’re probably the type of person who types on their iPhone about big brother tracking them with injected microchips.

I am not a proponent of critical race theory as it is being described. However, I am in favor of being completely transparent, with details, about all aspects of American history.

That already happens. It’s called History class. If you know of high schools that aren’t transparent, name them. It would be more productive than the repulsive, reprehensible things being pushed by the left in the name of “transparency.”

A decade ago (sheesh) I worked at a Save-A-Lot. The number of people on food stamps then was mind boggling. The majority of people that had food stamps greater than $800/month would buy pop, chips, sweets, and the most expensive meat in the store.

I once had a woman come through my line bragging on the phone about how smart she was. She said all of these fools in here are slaving away and I get money just for being single and having kids. I’m for helping people who need it (and are legal citizens but that’s another can of worms) but these system gamers make me sick.

And for those who are on it because they need it, the minute they try to pull themselves out of that situation, they lose all benefits and can’t get by. This system is set up for failure and to keep you reliant on the government.

There are people who need some help...and as a society we have to think of the best ways to help people who need it. Of course, our government just f-cks it up and can't do anything right...

We all have that gas station we go to the most, usually the one closest to your house and I still remember from a few years back they had this kid behind the counter really funny...I would go in there a lot, pay for some gas, get a fountain drink...and I never will forget one night this guy in his 20s in line front of me had grabbed like a dozen little debbie honey buns or something like that...if I remember correctly I even saw him drop a couple of them he was carrying so many.

Guy gets up to the counter and the funny kid lets him know they don't take EBT cards (food stamps)...and the guy threw a fit. Shoved the little debbie honey buns at him, cussed, stormed out...but here was the thing, the guy had a polo button up on and went out and got in really nice new car. Why does he have a card to buy a bunch of sh-t pastries on the taxpayers dime?

I still remember the kid behind the counter wasn't even mad at him for getting cussed at...he just looked at all the honey buns all over the counter and said 'he grabbed all of them, why not just carry them up in the box?' haha

What’s your point? We’ve gone from nuclear weapons to ammonia and diesel fuel? All from the original point of voter Id.

Ridiculous. I am a big proponent of completely revamping such benefits. Maybe even stop them for a time and come up with a way to ensure that people who really need them are getting them. Like people who maybe got sick and couldn’t work. Such a waste smh.

Well I’m a known leftist so the whole thread feels the need to argue with me whenever I post. They ignored the voter ID conversation because I said I’d be fine with a provided ID. Nothing to bash there so they went in on the 2nd Amendment comparison someone made. It’s a sports forum, most here just love razzing the ‘enemy’.

Man that’s exactly what I was wondering. What a jackass.

We once had someone try to bring back their receipt totaling around $100 and tried to return several items. They had a cigarette burn over the total, which also shows the form of payment... however they didn’t burn out the “EB” and only the “T” by that total.

They were pissed whenever they didn’t get cash back. So pissed that they took all their food and Mountain Dew with them that they were trying to return.

Here is the thing...if government was effective at getting results...TheFrontRunner would probably be in favor of way more social programs than some here.

But that is the problem. Liberals and socialtists ask one question...'SHOULD we do it?'

And if the answer to them is 'yes'...their little bleeding hearts never ask subsequent questions..like 'can the government do it effectively?'...'can government pay for this?'

Republicans in charge spend way too much money too but because we have established all these programs the conservatives are in trouble...cause to take them away means you lose voters.

I never will forget a very smart conservative told me in my youth (when I voted Democrat)...'I'm not against a lot of government programs when I first hear about them. I'm against them cause I know that they will expand 20 times more than they were suppose to and even if they are bad programs they will never die. You can't get rid of them.'

Privatize charity to the most local level, primarily to be distributed by the church and its networks, never passing through uncle sam. Americans, when allowed to be, are the most generous ppl on the planet. Pols will not allow it, even though it would help hundreds at each local level

They were probably protesting this stuff last year when we were told it was all saint George protests. I couldn't and still can't imagine how that would be true short some amazing organization from Linda sarsour (totally possible).

Like we saw with Cuba, our media won't tell us what's really happening. So if social media is censored, we're all truly in the dark

Which church? And why do you trust its bureaucracy? The largest and most established church bureaucracy is the Catholic one. And that thing’s just a pillar of efficiency and transparency donchaknow…

I did drive 55 home, he was drunk and thought it was time to run some errands...

"hey take me to the liqour store"

"can we go to taco bell?"

"oh shit...my wife told me to pick up a couple things at wal-mart...can we stop by wal mart?'

And he sit in the back seat and for some reason was singing 'Every rose has its thorn' the whole time.

Had to sit in line at taco bell for 20 mins, cause every drunk in town had the same idea.

55, next time call @screwduke1 ...that is the last time I drive you home from the bar.

I made this joke the other day, about driving drunk 55 around...the song I mentioned isn't some favorite of mine, it was actually before my time...I don't know why I used it, just trying to be funny. Now I can't get the son of a b-tch out of my head...I actually don't even really like the song, but for two days just been walking around with the lyrics in my head ' just like every cowboy sings a sad sad song'

Quote from the article:

It also means facing squarely what kind of being humankind has become. Watching the rising waters of the Liffey, Burke “considered how little man is, yet in his mind how great…Master of all things, yet scarce can command anything.” Manipulating the climate that humanity has destabilised—unwittingly, at first—spurs similar thoughts of simultaneous power and impotence. It is not nature that humans cannot command, but themselves, in all their insignificance and world-altering might.

It's the Olympics you moron. They don't play national anthems before games.

Yes they do, before soccer games they certainly do.

It's not the not knowing of a fact, it's the certitude in drawing unwarranted conclusions from limited or incorrect facts which makes a real moron.

That's characteristic of all leftist "thinking." You are complete idiots with no clue just how broad your ignorance is, and its consequences.
